I've only just started taping but as far as order
goes i've used the same principals as all the
big name compilations - start off nice and easy
and build it up , not just chucking in vocals after
vocals and mixing in the odd "interesting " track
to break it up.
You've also really got to take into account the
way the track starts and ends. I've tried to keep
away from mixing a track that is really busy (
vocals or maybe just general sound ) at the end
with a track that perhaps kicks in with vocals
right from the word go.
I reckon for your first taping stick to tracks with
really distinctive beats at both the start and end
and try to steer clear of the messier ones - just
my opinion
