yeah that sounds like a plan. although you can just go up to AKA at any point during the night. would like to meet up somewhere different but not sure what else is around that area. something like a nice lounge bar would be cool

Well, if you don't like my suggestion of AKA, what I might do (might being the operative word) take a stroll around there sometime this week?
I'll see if there is a handy lounge bar or something close enough to transport etc...

I'll try and come back with suggestions....

Hello from a beach in Vietnam...

While i will still be in Vietnam when this gig is on, i thought i might suggest that meeting at AKA isn't necessarily the best idea cos they tend to whack a door-charge on pretty early (maybe even as early as 9pm?) so unless you're rolling in cash you might wanna try somewhere that doesn't have a doorcharge, or at least if it does doesn;t apply till later in the night.

If i were there my suggestions would be The Crown and Anchor (Neal St, and is 5 mins walk to the End) which although very english sounding name is usually playing some alright tunes, or for something a bit more spiffy, you could try The Langley (on Langley Street) which only has a door charge after 10pm.

Greenie - you've been to both of these so you can advise the punters

yeah that would rock. London biggies for the most part seem to adopt the english softcock attitude. Going home at 4am. going to sleep when you get home at 6am. I'm still bouncing off the walls and they are trying to sedate me.

Just one day. It'll be the last night out before I go offline for 4 weeks to finish prep for this little running thing I'm doing in hyde park in mid april.

if my memory serves me well, i think i've been there before with steveo, from c.g tube its down neal st, 1 block down first on right, right on the corner. Can't miss it. If it isn't the right place we can always meet there anyway!

That is the one - though it may be more than one block. But its right on Neal St and yes - hard to miss.

Crown and Anchor is nice if you just want to meet and have a beer. Its just a pub though and if you want to have a few cocktails and a bit of a dance warm up - I would suggest Langleys.

AKA is not the best idea. They will prob have a cover charge from when they open.

btw - I will prob be in attendance with one or a few of my flatmates.

Ooh ooh ooh, and Andy Smith from Portishead is doing a DJ set in the lounge bar at The End that night (thats the other room by the main room, not AKA, which will not be connected to The End that night, cos it hardly ever is on fridays).

I saw Andy play at Medicine Bar near Old Street last year and it was rad (Medicine Bar is one of the best DJ bars in London, IMO)
