Id have to say i have a very negative overview off how the event went for me Mad
It was nice to see the representitives from EPL stick to their word

I know what you mean - but Urban has usually been pretty strict with the stndard of who's allowed in... and SubUrban will up this further.

The emphasis on the gig is a good standard of dress, and a quality crowd who are there for the music - and not to rock up in singlets fifteen sizes too big armed with a very thick marker pen.

Anyone we deem to look suspicious in any way WON'T be allowed in (and we have the right to refuse entry to anyone we feel, in the interests of EPL and of Studio). The code is dress-to-impress, so said wearers of oversized attire will most likely also be refused in. We're focusing on a classy crowd (ie like RnB Superclub have shown), not the down and outs who like to mutter incomprehensible insults and gesticulate like a baboon. They won't be coming in.

haha yea right ROFL!!!!!!! Hmmm i saw countless numbers of the above mentioned.... Nice work there...

The facilities givin to the spectrum area were top notch and extensive.... Rolling Eyes oh yea they were also packed out with visuals and cooling devices (i must admit there was at least an effort made on the cooling department though)

On a positive note
The music was good. Very good vibe from the dj's especially ARES!!! Nice work dude!
Big ups to the to the bouncer upstairs. Saw him serve many g's trying to take the piss on their asses!!! Laughing
50c glasses of water was definatly all good. Cheap and refreshing. Very Happy

Whilst i still manage to enjoy myself and have a good night i think the combo did not work as well as seperate events would, as you definatly saw a huge neglect on one side, whilst the other got what they wanted

The music for that night on the spectrum floor was definiately most enjoyable for me. Big ups to all the DJ's for playin' wickid sets especially Nick, Ares and Terry. There was nice lighting and a spacious down at the urban floor but too bad the setup fully gave me the '1st form social/bluelight' feel. More effort could've been put into the decorative aspects of the Spectrum floor to make it equalivilent of what was done to the Urban floor. What I really would like is do a swap next time and set the Spectrum side be setup as the mainfloor. Anyways, thanks EPL for a great gig, looking forward to the next suburban. Music

Cheers for the feedback on our first experiment of Spectrum Meets Urban and a big thank you to all that attended and we're involved. A generally well behaved crowd with great attitudes.

I also have to congratulate the dj's in the Spectrum zone for putting up with the at times sub standard set up upstairs from people going crazy bouncing up n down. No amount of foam, suspension etc would keep them from being perfect. As frustration kicked in the professionalism shone through.

Lots of learning curves from this event which we as EPL look forward to tackling then recifying for future parties.

THE BAD POINTS: The Spectrum part had bad lighting (it should've been downstairs), There was no trance set, The Spectrum part was the minority, The Spectrum part wasn't big enough, The bouncers let anybody into the venue (I almost got jumped, my mates were threatened by some absolute randoms and there were generally dozens of fuckwits eyeing people up throughout the whole venue).

THE GOOD POINTS: Ares did well, Water was 50c a glass.

IF SPECTRUM AND URBAN DON'T COME BACK AS TWO SEPARATE EVENTS THEN THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES. DEADLY CONSEQUENCES.

Hahahahah! The last line really topped the post off for me.

Um, I would agree with psycho_surfer in that the dress code maintained was shit. And one of my friends WATCHED a girl give a guy a blow job against the Hip Hop room wall.

I think that for me perosnally, I didn't enjoy the event overly becuase it's got to the stage where I can't hande all the bullshit stigma that comes with Hip Hop music. It's a pain in the arse, and it definately brought down my night. IMO trying to ocllide the two might work for a punter who doesn't really know what dance music is, it will eventually lead to exposure and therefore maybe a build in the "dance scene 18-". Otherwise, it totally didn't appeal to ME.

Anyways, big ups to the promotors, looks like you guys managed to pull it off ok!

Oh, and the top room NEEDED more fans. It was WAY too hot. Very Happy
