Steve Lawler last night

What did you guys think? I wasn't that impressed to be honest. He seemeed to rely on cheesy rifts and big bass lines for the early part of his set, then seemed to just bang it out for the rest like a HH dj woud. Maybe i'm just getting too old and cynical these days

Anyway, it was good to meet all of you guys that I havent met up with before, Jeznz and flatmates, Geoffy etc. Hope you all had fun.

Yeh, was pretty dissapointed as well.

I was expecting him to play a lot of dark tribal, was very average.

But good to see everyone again, and meet some new faces as well.

Bring on the next night out.

Yeah - I've heard a few negative comments about Lawler's night at The End before...

Its interesting, cos on Friday nights at Turnmills they have a night called "The Gallery", which hosts some pretty cool DJs like Nick Warren, Dave Seamen, etc... but whenever I've been I've be surprised and a bit dissapointed by it all... I've often wondered if its because its a friday night rather than a saturday...? It was always definitely what i'd call ra ra ra ra ra party music, and not like what i'd heard on their global underground CDs... I might be drawing connections that aren't there, but friday nights tend to be simplified, dumbed-down party music whereas you hear a lot of better stuff on saturday nights...

Thats not absoloute though, we saw Jeff Mills on a friday night at The End last year, and in Greenie's favourite phrase, it was the total nizzah...
