Guptills dismissal was pretty thoughtless but check his facial expresion walking off and in the pavilion I havent seen a cricketer who gets so upset at getting out since under 12's when this guy in our team Andrew Buckton loved batting so much he would routinely sob his way back to the pavilion

Unless Vetorri and Oram put on 100+ runs here NZ are going to lose.

Actually, they would probably lose if they did that anyway. Sri Lanka will come in and blast runs then have two days to bowl NZ out ...of which they'll probably only need one day.

yeh, fuck pushing him up, he's already captain, go to bowler and selector, no need to add top order bat to that list. I seriously though that Moles would bring some grit to our batting, now i have my doubts about him. We have the skill level in Ryder, Guptill and Taylor to be quite formidable, with McCullum and Vettorri to smash home the advantage later. Imo make Danny the selected allrounder, but still down the order, get Oram out of there, and pick another promising young batsmen. We need to get young guys facing test bowlers and pressure asap. Or something. gaahhhhh!!!!

You've probably been confused by the fact there was a couple of overs inbetween from other bowlers.

Perhaps the commentators were confused too. Because they didnt mention the hat trick ball. Either that... or I wasnt really paying attention (which I wasnt)

If it's the same commentators used in the tests then it wouldn't surprise me. They say moronic stuff most of the time, so not surprising if they missed it.

Like the guy going on about how one of the NZ batsmen was very lucky to be there after another absurd over the top Sri Lankan LBW appeal, even when he's seen the replays that show clearly the ball pitching outside leg ...and yes, a shot was played.

On Jakes 2nd ball of the over, when the catch is taken Danny Morrison starts squealing that "Oram is on a hat trick!".....when in fact he had already taken one. The players themselves didnt even know until the game was over when some scorer_nerd told them. So yeah cant blame me for not picking up on it

Good win last night. Bond, 4 overs, 3 wickets for 18 runs. This could be promising for the ODIs.

From the highlights it looked like the NZ bowlers bowled way too many loose full tosses that were easily smacked to the boundary though.

NZ PLAYS SHOCKINGLY IN THE TESTS BUT RECOVERS TO PLAY WELL IN THE LIMITED OVERS FORMAT.

Well I may not even have Buckton spelt correctly. maybe the guys name was Buckten, or Bucktor, or Buckethead. Fuck knows. But if you played for BCC its probably indeeed you. I have more information on the incident which may help you Mr Buckton in ascertaining if I am talking about you. I now recall why the incident stuck in my mind. Heres what happened

Im pretty sure I was aged about 11- 12, and in those days 50's were pretty rare. No one has hitting tons so 50's were like the pinnacle and the scorers used to call out when you were on 48/49 etc. So one day this guy Andrew got to 49, had it announced to the 30 odd peeps in attendance and promptly chased a wide one and nicked out. On his way back to the pavilion he sobbed. A lot

I probably would have forgotten about it over the years but the reason I remember is this. At the end of the innings the scorers announced that there was one more run crossed off in the scorebook than could be atttributed to the innings tally (if you guys follow)....so they deicided since Andrew had scored....I dunno prob 30 odd % of the total runs they would just asume it was his and his tragic 49 and scrubbed and 50 awarded

I was fkn furious. partly cos I was, (am still am) ridiculously competative to the point where I slightly resent teammates successes over mine. And partly cos I thought it was extrememly lame and incorrect in a technical sense.
