Spikey Tee started DJ-ing in 1985, playing sound systems at house parties
and warehouse gigs in and around London. This was followed by a natural
progression from turntables to the studio with avant-garde band "The
Sindecut", whose 14-year-old genre-defying album, "Changing The Scenery"
(Virgin Records), still sounds as fresh today as it did on release in 1990.
Comparisons have been made to the Fugees second album "The Score", which, although comparable, was recorded six years later.

His DJ-ing, MC-ing and singing skills have taken him around the world to
Australia, Sweden, Russia, and Finland to name a few. Spikey recently
performed in Australia and New Zealand on the 'Vibes on a Summer's Day' tour, DJ-ing alongside Mr. Scruff, Masters At Work, Jazzanova, Will White, Jo Mills, Ian Pooley and Xpress 2. He is now back on vocal duties, recording for Mark Rae, Potential Bad Boy, Dual Control, Marcus Intalex (for his Soul:R Imprint), Craig Dodd (recent Island Records signing), while an appearance on DJ Hype's Ganja label on a track “Hands Up” marked his first vocal drum 'n' bass outing.


All the while Spikey continued to DJ, mixing hip-hop, R&B, ragga, and drum
'n' bass. Not content to rest on his laurels, Spikey also made hit tunes for numerous producers, most notably with top-20 UK hit "Dark Heart", recorded for Bomb The Bass, and "Paper Soldier" for Mannasseh.

After a chance meeting with Dom (Blood and Fire Records/Sound System) and Mr.Scruff at a Jah Wobble concert in Manchester, Spikey Tee teamed up with the Manchester hip-hop label Grand Central for a number of collaborations. A track with Mr. Scruff, "Is It Worth It", was received extremely well, as was "Erase The Pain" for Tony D's 'Pound for Pound' album.

He is now back on vocal duties, recording for Mark Rae, Potential Bad Boy, Dual Control, Marcus Intalex (for his Soul:R Imprint), Craig Dodd (recent Island Records signing), while an appearance on DJ Hype's Ganja label on a track “Hands Up” marked his first vocal drum 'n' bass outing.

Big ups! Cant wait to see Spikey again! We played togther at Vibes on a Summers Day held @ western Springs in AKL in 2002. with Mr Scruff, Master @ Work, Xpress 2.. and soo many more... what a vibe filled day in akl that was and the after party @ whats now Starzz... *ah memories..sigh*

Anywho! big ups the HSD for bringin the Spike to H-town.. gona be a very wicked night indeed with plenty of boozies!... For u that don't know.. the treat being bestowed upon you is almost priceless! kinda like when digital came andplayed at altitude a few years back.
