sound quality

this is a totally self indulgant post to tell you of my extreme excitement at my setup

in the past month i have obtained an alesis io2 interface, some cerwin vega speakers and a nice big desk to put everything on

holy crap
the sound quality difference is sooooooo huge compared to just plugging my headphones straight into my laptop!

and just to think that the alesis isnt even the greatest quality and the speakers are speakers, not monitors (though i have set them in the correct places in order to get the best out of them)

wow!

The first couple of upgrades are always to biggest change in quality.

its a sony fm/am receiver amp! haha but its nice and clear and does the job

thats true proof!
but thankfully i am quite a 'want not, waste not' sorta person so i really dont think ill be upgrading beyond this for a long long time

funnily though, now when i listen to peoples production (dance music specifically) i can hear how 'pre-set' their music is... before the sound was so coloured that it actually sounded better and more 'unique' than now when i can hear it clearly

Yeah I love it when upgrades do the damage.

Your hi-fi amp will still "color" your music however.
