Anyone had a play? - seriously considering getting one of these as my travel/ mostly use camera.

Need something between my iPhone and my dslr and this seems like an option - a compact with a mechanical shutter and interchangable lenses - though they look fricken stupid on such a small body.

Other problem is it needs an add on flash.

Oh really? No built in flash kinda defeats the purpose of having an easy to carry/wield point n' shoot doesn't it really?

Hardly easy to carry if you conside the size of some of its lenses or that you might be lugging 2 or 3 of them so why not carry a proper bounce strobe?

Reading that Sony intended it for the estimated 10 milllion folks looking to step up from the compact but not for the dslr owners looking for their 2nd camera.

Its not that big a flash.

I would probably do most of my photos from the 16mm pictured but the 18-55 isnt much more in $$ but a whole lot more in terms of size.

You can add a fish eye and macro adaptor to the 16mm.

The things I like about this over a standard compact is : HD Video, high ISO range and fast AF... hopefully its worth it. I must say I'm a bit disappointed in the Canon 60D as it is a step downward towards consumer level and the 7D isn't quite justifiable at the moment. I now have a 5D(mk1) and while it doesn't do video and the MP isnt as much higher as I'd like, its still a big step up from the 20D.

And I hardly use the flash on compacts anyway, theyre shit.

Dunno - Theres nothing that really grabs me that I'm prepared to pay for and after lugging a dslr all around Europe and Dubai i'm quite keen on something that will fit in the wife's handbag Smile
