Let's talk soccer, it's been ages since we talked soccer...

Who's gonna win...

The Premier League?
Serie A?
La Liga?
Bundesliga?
Champions League?
UEFA Cup?

Easy...

Arsenal
Internazional Milan
Barcelona
Leverkusen (they deserve it finally)
Real Madrid (as much as I hate them, who's gnna beat them?)
Barcelona
[quote]
Scottish League ?

Easy

Glasgow Rangers
[quote]
Glenfield Rovers under 8's mixed Blue division?

Easy

The Tigers
[quote]
Go the Villa. (although arsenal will be tough to beat...)

Exodus. What about that other Glasgow club?!

Go the Celtic.
[quote]
I support Liverpool and this is the year we win everything

If not, then its next year aye...
[quote]
I don't want to be an arse, but why do all you people support a bunch of poms living 20,000km away?

I find it strange the way people go on about teams full of foreigners, in the farthest place on the planet from NZ, playing a game most Kiwi's don't like.

Can anyone explain this phenomena to me?
[quote]
Its the most popular sport in the world that many people love. The best players are overseas so if you love the sport you watch the UK/Italian/spanish/german leagues. The same is true of Basketball in the US. The fact that most NZers don't follow it is irrelevant really, it what the individual likes thats important.

RDG - I prefer blue sorry :o)

Interestly if Arsenal win against West Ham this weekend they will break the record for most consecutive wins the English League (any division). Gunners all the way!

Ex- I suppose if there was a red Glasgow team they'd be you team, aye? Especially if their nickname was the foxes.
[quote]
2-all, still a record tho isnt it? 29 games w/out a loss or sumthing?...

and i support the Kingz! GO YOU KINGZ!!

dont gimme any shit about how crap they are - just look at the Warriors, they sucked their first few seasons too! Smile
[quote]
Fucking Hammers!!!

Granted Arsenal played like shit until Henry scored that fucking magnificant goal...

But htat ref was a fucking shocker... Joe Cole should have been sent off for that extremely blatant dive... The ref miust have been the only person in the world who thught that was penalty... Oh well karma came through for Arsenal in the end, fucking hilarious watching the West Ham managers face after Wiltord tied it up.
[quote]
...it showed though that any team can be beaten. West Ham played some nice football, and the game produced 2 amazing goals...would have been a third if the post hadn't gotten in the way of Sinclairs rocket.
But in the end Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool will be fighting it out for the premiership while Bolton, Birmingham and Fulham will be playin 2nd tier next season....
[quote]
Italy - Chievo/Juventus
Germany - Bayern Munich/Bayer Leverkusen
Spain - Deportivo La Caruna/Real Madrid
France - Lens/Paris St Germain
Belgium - Bruges/Mouscron
Scotland - Rangers/Celtic
Portugal - Boavista/Sporting Lisbon
Turkey - Fenebache/Galatasaray

......
[quote]
Chievo? Flash in the pan mate!
[quote]
Sinclair wouldn't have scored, if it was the inches to the right to take it inside the post Seamen would have had it. He almost seemed to know it was gonna hit the post as he moved across to make the save then pulled away right before it hit the post. Despoite the fact he gets caught off his line a bit much, Seamen is still the best keeper in England.
[quote]
haha...Seaman would have had it, I could think of another goal which he should have had! He mis-judged the shot simple as that, he put his arms out thinking it was goin wide.
Schmeichal is a good keeper, Shay Given is a good keeper....Seaman is not, should have been put out to pasture years ago.
[quote]
When I said best keeper in England, I meant best English keeper sorry.

The clubs are now complaining about UEFA decision to cut the second group stage from next years Champions League. UEFA argues it is being overkilled and this is the reason for the drop in TV viewing all over Europe (except Britain). The clubs argue that they need the revenue that the extra 4 games generate.

In short UEFA's plan for next years Champions League:

32 teams take part in 8 groups of 4. This has not changed.
16 teams go through to round of 16, then 8 to 1/4 finals etc. Instead of forming another 4 groups of 4 like they will this year.

The G14 (the 14 biggest clubs in Europe) is adamant UEFA will have to back down, but UEFa is intent on preserving the special nature of the Champions League. Others say it's good for the players to play less games, but does four games in a season of sometimes 50+ really make a difference?
[quote]
People who say "drop Seaman!" are the same as the ppl who say "drop Stephen Fleming!"

Theyve got a great argument until you say

"Ok, who shall we replace him with?"

(apologies for mentioning cricket in your football thread)

hmm, see the captain of Northen Ireland quit because of death threats? Sick shit :/
[quote]
Apparantly it was a hoax but FFS, I'm pretty sure he's a Catholic so what the fuck is so wrong about playing for Celtic.

basketball is cool.
[quote]
Anyone see the Man U game? It amazes how they are capable of missing every chance that comes there way one week, then putting everything away the next... Alex Ferguson definitely has some consistency issues to work through with his attackers. Whereas Arsene Wenger and Arsenal will need to do the same with their defenders.
[quote]
People who support the EPL are what we call, in the business, wankers.
Whereas Serie A and La Liga are superior competitions. And, undoubtedly, the almighty Lazio will win the former, (Inter won't win for another 30 years), whereas Real Madrid will win the latter. Bayern will win the CL due to the midfield of Ze Roberto, Ballack, Deisler and Scholl...
[quote]
'yawn'

[quote]
I agree with the sentiments about La Liga and Serie A, unfortunately we get no La Liga coverage at in NZ, and the Serie A has the annoying Americans, and the irish guy... Although with mute on it good, but then you miss the atmosphere coming off the crowd.
[quote]
Serie A is more like watching rugby once the ball gets in the penalty area.

Vadinho - so you're not picking your favourite team for the cup then, real madrid. Smile
[quote]
ok i see a bunch of homos up there posting

manchester

i take it your refering to Man city yeah??
cos if ya not the other team is called
united or just plain old scum
[quote]
Real madrid continues its policy of insuring victory by having the 11 best players in the world with the transfer of Ronaldo from Inter to Real. AC Milan will now win Serie A, and the facists in white will take out the CL and La Liga quite easily by the look of things now.
[quote]
well im an arsenal supporter so i have no trouble picking the premiership winners

UEFA - Dunno, coz i dont know all the teams that are in it, but hopefully an english team tho i doubt it

[quote]
