and knowing this i went to slinky, since i never listen to hardhouse i have no idea how to discern between the different types of hardhouse, therefore it all sounded the same to me... suprisingly i had a shit time.

i actually spent about 10 mins in the hardhouse tent at the gathering, after that i thought i\'d heard the same song ten times

DPT...I hope you read the resolution those involved in that post reached by its end.

i heard the hardhouse demon calling me, that repedative beat, that same keyboard sound on everytrack, the cheesy samples, and the obviouse mixing, it was all too much i hade to follow.

I don\'t mind house music.....and I was going to Velvet for the atmosphere as well.

I just find it gets a little dull after a while. Looking back on that post however, I would like to apologise for the tone of the early posts....it really isn\'t my place to complain about the music at a HOUSE event. It was just the lack of variety the MY EAR detected.....and the over use of the saxofone....TO MY EAR. The sax actually spoiled some nice building music for me...detracted from the pure groove of what the DJ was playing. My friends agreed with this....however, this is only our opinion.

So to VELVET ALLSTARS....Apologies for the juvenile start to my \"VELVET\" post....I think I felt like having a whinge about nothing in particular...what, being at work....and with a NY\'s hangover to contend with......In summary.....my night still wasn\'t that bad....ALL IS GREAT IN HINDSIGHT as a wise man once said.

im sorry im lost, that is far too sensable for my little drug fried brain.

aint_gonna - come to a -real- velvet, i think the next one is on in april or so..

it is at these that they pull out all the stops for what i can only describe as possibly the best party night in auckland - 2000 people @ the civic is a whole lot more revenue than 350 @ insomnia, also i think cyberculture (who do the sound and lighting side of the event) were down doing visionz in golden bay at nye, i\'m not 100% sure of this one, but i do know the cyberculture did the sound and lights for visionz..

so i\'d suggest giving it another chance in april

I may just do that DPT....I\'d heard nothing but great things about these parties in the past.....and The Civic looks like a fantastic venue.

The reputation of Velvet was one of the reasons I attended despite my slight reservation about the music.
