MARK SHERRY [UK]

In the last few years, Mark Sherry from Public Domain has became one of Scotland’s top DJs. Playing endless amounts of gigs in his native country including recently playing at Scotland’s biggest night Inside Out at The arches in Glasgow. He was billed as a "Future Hero" on this night which has been 1 of the highlights of his career so far. Mark has also played in almost every country on the planet including several tours of Australia playing for Frantic and Slinky and headlining at a full house at Sydney’s Olympic Stadium, Code in Japan - Tokyo’s biggest and best club, headlining with his band Public Domain in Privilege in Ibiza(the worlds biggest club) 2 weeks in a row, playing on a fortress in the middle of the sea in St Petersburg in Russia and Oxia in Zurich, Switzerland’s best club. He has also played at Holland’s biggest clubbing event Dance Valley in Amsterdam to 90,000 people and Djed on the back of 1 of the trucks at the Berlin Love Parade in Berlin Germany 3 years in a row. This is the biggest dance festival in the world with 1 million clubbers gathering every year with the exception of this year. Most recently Public Domain were 1 of the headlining acts at Scotlands biggest festival, Coloursfest at the Braehead Arena in Glasgow where they played main stage in front of 10,000 punters. . Not only did they wreck the place but when they came off stage Mark was asked to DJ and fill in for Paul Van Dyk who had been injured shortly before and couldn’t play that night. Of course Mark stepped up and continued to destroy the place. Even Paul Van Dyks agent pulled Public Domains manager to the side to thank him and comment that he couldn’t have asked for a better replacement for PVD!!! Mark also holds monthly residencies in Scotland’s newest and best nights, Essence which pulls in the masses with some of the biggest DJs in the world playing every month. Ignition in Glenrothes is also a regular haunt for Mark for pulling in the crowds. As u can see, not a bad CV for a 29 year old!!

Not only is Mark a club DJ,he does his weekly radio show on West FM,”The Public Domain Powermix” - 1 of Scotland’s biggest hard dance and trance shows which has been going strong for 6 years now. This goes out every Saturday night from 8-10pm and can be heard on 96. 7FM on the whole West Coast of Scotland and the Central Belt/Glasgow. It can also be heard online at www. westfm. co. uk. Mark also contributes guest mixes to the internets biggest and longest running dance music website www. tranceairwaves. com Here Mark can be heard every sunday night from 10-120pm. Tranceairwaves also hosts mixes from the biggest DJs/producers in the world ranging from Matt Darey,Judge Jules,Darren Tate,Marcel Woods and Scott Mac etc. One of Marks radio highlights was recently being asked to do a guest mix on Ministry Radio by Above And Beyond for their Trance Around The World/Anjuna Beats show which is one of the most talked about trance shows around just now. Mark has supported their label from the start so this was a great return.

Mark, from Ayrshire, works on all the Public Domain tracks in the studio with his partners in crime James Allan and Neil Skinner, also from Ayrshire. He has played the keyboard since he was 8 years old and started to dabble with production when he was 16. James is an accomplished keys player also and has an HND in audio engineering, Neil also lends a big helping hand in production but is the main man for vocal ideas and getting the crowd going as PD’s wicked frontman on stage. The band have just recently been signed to Incentive Records, one of The Ministry Of Sounds sister labels which is home to Michael Woods/Matt Darey/Higate (Jules and Yomanda)/Yomanda etc. Their new single Make the Connection/Dangerous Minds was released recently and can be found on the Ministry Annual 2004,Frantic Euphoria and Judge Jules' most recent Electric Trance compilation. Its also gained heaps of support from Anne Savage and all the Goodgreef and Inside Out lads. Mark has also been working on some of his own solo projects including a brand new track called After Dark which has just been signed to Red Monkey Recordings, owned by his good mates David Forbes and Mallorca Lee of Questions and Debunk Music fame. . He has also dished out some bootlegs recently which have been caned by Jules,Eddie Halliwell,Anne Savage,Scott Mac,Alex Kidd,Simon Foy,Fraser Latta,Barry Connell,DJ Choose and AJ Gibson. . . . the list goes on. Not a bad kick start into 2004!!The lads have achieved so much already with their huge worldwide club smash “Operation Blade” which has now sold well over 2 million copies after going to number 5 in the UK and 4 in Germany. This hasnt been their only chart success though, their follow up to Operation Blade,” Rock da Funky Beats” featuring Public Enemy hip hop legend Chuck D went to number 19 and their 3rd release “Let Me Clear My Throat/2 Many MC's went to 32. . Although, chart success isn’t a priority for the boys. They’d much rather have a club go mental to one of their tracks than hear their music getting played in a supermarket!!!

To round things up, the Dancestar Awards association described Public Domain’s televised performance on Channel 4 as one of the most electric performances that they have ever recorded. Rapture TV would agree with this as they are still playing their live Gatecrasher performance on TV 2 years after they headlined at the NEC in Birmingham……almost every week!!

The new Public Domain album Digital Rock n Roll is 90% finished and scheduled for release later in the year but meantime u can find Mark slammin out his cutting edge blend of hard dance/tech trance and techno at a club or festival near you now.

BASS IN THE PLACE LONDON. . . and everywhere else!!!
