So far haven't seen anyone run this country well...but I guess a bloody hard job, and I'd rather them do it than me.

I actually have a lot of respect for Helen. SHe's a tough lady, and she's acheived a fair bit for a first term.
Not so sure about the scrapping of the air force though.

I think Helen Clark is a competent politician, and as such, I've got some respect going on. Most of them come across as clueless morons. And Jenny Shipley came across like a primary school teacher that everyone hated.

Yeah, I respect Helen Clark for her intelligence, and being shrewd enough to be a control freak and gt away with it - and for simmering ole nutter-Anderton down.

Shipley had already resigned from head of the party anyway, doesn't really matter whether she's an MP or not I suppose!

Lets face it, she was a out-of-date carping old school marm from the boondocks, she couldn't handle pressure, never won an election as PM and lied all the time. Goodbye to bad rubbish I say. And yes, I am a Helen fan.

Jenny Shipley played politics by the old school boys club rules, took power of the National party through dirty back stabbing means, lied like an idiot and got caught and was basically came across as being as thick as pig shit.... blah blah blah

Helen Clark on the other hand is playing by her own rules and has done I belief a good to great job to date - my only criticism is the handling of the so called War On Terrorism - where we've leapt into a conflict that makes us allies to the biggest terrorist power ever - the USA.

As Bill Hicks said - a war is when two sides take to the battlefield.

I think its classic how she crapped on about how she had a 'deep committment' to the wellbeing of the country & all that other 'please vote for me' shit that they all spout & then suddenly its 'I can't be arsed with this anymore...goddbye'

I dunno who it was, but some journalist commented how Shipley is the only politition they have come across that remained loyal to the party with out any bitching, or backstabbing, even privately when off the record.

Just so you know that shes not some sort of evil person...

Yeah Shipley wasn't too bad if you ask me. Not the greatest of politicians, but she had a good mind I reckon. It just didn't come across that way, she always sounded patronising.

Good on her for not kicking up a stink.

Shipley always came across to me as someone who had too many PR people and speechwriters. She seemed to speak in pre-prepared statements, didn't seem natural at all and had that patronising "schoolteacher" voice.

I think it would have been a little bit two faced of her to kick up a stink about losing the leadership etc, as she managed to become PM by backstabbing Jim Bolger.

Helen is a legend!

She is the ultimate to play along with Havoc and Newsboy when she gets interviewed by them. If it were Jenny Shiply in her place, she would just bag all the opposition and be a tired saggy old b*tch all the time.

Havoc is fucking useless at interviewing Helen Clark. He gets all matey and just agrees with everything she says.

Clarke and Shipley both have mens voices.

Sorry Kaysha, I agree with Smiley there. Mikey Havoc never asked Helen Clarke any hard questions. I wanna hear an interviewer put someone on the spot.

Whenever Jenny Shipley gets on TV she just uses it as a chance to say what she could be doing better than Helen Clark, which is what she would do on Havoc. Whereas Helen Clark doesn't give her the time of day, shows who the better man is doesn't it?
