Given that Cameron is the better technical boxer, so long as he can stay out of the way of that left hook of Tua's and doesnt bleed too much he should win.

I think Cameron will get though with his speedwork, he just has to watchout those eyebrows don't split.

Tua will take it. Cameron will try to brawl with Tua. He will want to knock him out and it will cost him. If Cameron is sensible and keeps his head on him he will stay as far from Tua as possible and try to last the fight and win on points.

If Monty Betham can knock out Cameron so can Tua.

To be fair it would be easier to knock someone out in a street fight than the ring wouldnt it (no gloves to take away some of the impact etc). Still, Monty did look like he would have been a decent boxer if he had carried on.

Tua has lost 3 fights in his pro career. To Ike Ibeabuchi, Chris Byrd and Lennox Lewis. If Cameron thinks his name will be added to that list he is fukn dreaming.

Looks like a pretty smart move by the promoters (as odd as that sounds talking about boxing)

Auck and Wellington councils wouldnt front any $$ but Hamilton will. Sure its a lot less than they hoped for.... but they have a venue now, and the best part is the Auckland PI/Boxing/Tua fan community wont have any problem making the 3 hour round trip to see this so called Fight of the Century.

If it's such a big thing and will make lots of money why does a council have to put money in? Why shouldn't the promoter foot all the bill?

It could easily have been in Auckland but the promoters wanted to shop around and try and get more profit by getting city councils to put money into it. I don't think all the blame can be attributed to councils.

I hope Tua shows Cameron some respect and trains hard for this fight. He's got a solid chin and obvious punching power but he'll need to back that up with fitness.

I love my league, but some of the players think they're gods gift to sport or someting...sheeesh.

Given how long Tua's been out of the ring he might lack the conditioning late in the fight, I can't see Cameron knocking him down as Tua's jaw was granite and that's one thing he definitely won't have lost... But if Tua gets tired and just resorts to lumbering around throwing telegraphed left hooks as his did against big men when he got frustrated late in the fight then Cameron might be able to survive and take it on points. The game plan for fighting Tua has always been fiarly straight forward, it remains to be seen whether Cameron is disciplined enough to stick to it otherwise I'm sure he will be knocked out.

I think what it comes down to is if Cameron is a good enough fighter to last, as I said the game plan is crystal clear but I'm still not sure that Cameron is anywhere near Tua's level. Tua has one of the biggest left hooks in boxing history and is second only to Tyson in his knockout ratio (sure he's never been a champion but he was a contender when the division was a lot stronger than it is now), nothing that Cameron has done so far suggests he is in the same class however it's the perfect chance for him to prove he deserves to fight top heavyweights.

Not sure why the ref thought the fight needed to go to the second round or more importantly why he didn't foul Tua for punching when Cameron was on his knees. Twice. It perhaps might have been a tough call if he'd been disqualified for it, but really bad form on the part of both Tua and the ref.

Still, good to see Tua is back. What next though?

I have just watched this over and over on reply and no once when he actually on his knees when Tua hit him.

What a mismatch the dudes career is over I would think. No one would want to fight such a lightweight!

Gotta give props to Lee Parore and Roger Bloodworth. Tua was primed and completely focused for this fight.

Also, Shane Cameron has got some balls calling Tua out. Seriously, he gave Tua a reason to step back into the ring. Good on him, and I hope he recovers well. He took some heavy shots to the dome from one of the hardest punches in heavyweight boxing history. He'll be feeling the hurt today...
