The new SL3 hardware has a number of improvements including:

* USB 2.0 high speed audio interface.
* Improved dynamic range (104 dB).
* Improved audio performance (24-bit converters).
* Higher output improves ability to easily match levels of various source types.
* Galvanic isolation prevents computer noise from interfering with audio path.
* Aux Input for Live Mix Recording or LiveFeed.
* Aux Output allows use of the Sample Player as a Virtual Deck.
* Aux Output opens the door for future expansion and creative con?gurations for DJs and electronic musicians.
* High-grade phono preamps upgrade the performance of most mixers.
* Software switchable Direct Thru connections for simplicity.
* Independent Line / Phono-level selection for each input for greater ?exibility.

So.. better sound quality, and louder sound output, less cables to plug in, faster USB and a really solid USB connection point, it's smaller and lighter and has aux in/outs so you can get busy with other audio sources or record straight back in from the mixer.

Not sure if I should flick my SL1 for this...I got the vci300 w/ itch as well.

Tempting to have the latest and greatest thing from Rane/Serato but I'm not sold yet

any recommendations on where to buy SL3?

i see there are a number of nz based "online shops" like www.musicthingz.co.nz selling them at a cheap price. but i feel it might be a bit risky when you consider warranty.

Yeah, would personally avoid them.

looks pretty snazzy, would like to hear it in a club to see if the audio is hugely different, props for making it easier though! Goddam speed of tech making my SL1 cheaper by the second though

oh and the other audio sources thing is def a winner for sure.
