Scribe: The Crusader

2 new CDs entered my collection this week - DMX & Scribe. And I have to say - so far Scribe is my first choice.

NZ hip hop REALLY is going off.

Scribe & DJ Sir Vere etc are @ Fu tonight - its going to be PHAT.

I left @ about 3am and Scribe was long gone - so not sure what you mean about ruining SV's gig? Scribe is on the MF CD and is part of the SAS crew. As for the grabbing of girls bits - didnt see that, BUT - he did have some bad ass fat chick in his enterage (girlfriend of one of his mates I suspect) that thought she could throw her weight around - and had I not been preoccupied with getting him to sign my cd I'd have invited her to give it her best shot, then possibly made a few calls to his label manager @ Festival or perhaps a trashy Sunday paper - I can see the headlines now "Scribe fan assulted by his friends" - nice one!

In summary, Scribe rocked, SAS crew rocked - but Scribes "non-famous" mates need to check their girlfriends attitudes.


Dont get me started on the groupies. SERIOUSLY tragic, but oh so entertaining!

i love the crusader but i'm disappointed in a couple of things.
theme from the crusader - the instrumental was used on one of the major flavours.
too late - it was on the bonus disc on major flavours 2

i was really looking for straight up nu shit from the dude that hung in the streets where i'm from.

but he gets away with it cos of his fuckin phat flowz.

The whole album really hasn't grabbed me apart from the two good singles, a bit boring even. BUT I think he is very talented and its amazing work done in such a short time yet his behaviour on friday night was a bit sad. Yelling "don't you know who I am" at people is bit hollywood and lets face it, this is Queen Street, Auckland. Yeah and telling chicks he would rather sign thier 'pussies' than thier albums is too quite wrong. So, he is not quite my number one anymore!

his CD's pretty phat. The night went off the hook, but when scribe came back the second time (changed). He jumped on the tables to TRY and scratch some beats. Man it was just wrong....i think he should just stick to rap'n.

I was bitterly dissapointed with the scribe album..I actually felt ripped off after I bought it. I thought it would be full of bangers...not many if any...haha. I like #2 been this way and not many. Dats it. Lacking on content and thats evident with 2 remixes makin up numbers. The crusader song os a fukin joke!

oh dear, what a fall from grace... from me an all ma girlies fully rating scribe's on-to-it attitude about nz artists needing to focus on community and respect... to his rude behaviour on friday nite. and no, it's true i'm afraid - he was there representing too much booze and a bad attitude until 4.30 or 5am. good effort. sooo attractive too.
and when staff attempted to reign in his drunken temper and rampant ego, his reply? i heard him shout -
"i'm too famous to be fucked with!"
hmm, utter charmer.
compare this to his quote in the recent Pulp mag -

i say that it can be heartbreaking for fans and friends alike to hear the truth about how the ole crusader handled himself on the weekend, and the disparity between his image/sober self and his actual actions less confusing than clearly disappointing.
as for his comments to those poor girls, perhaps if they wanted their privates signed or their snatches grabbed (yuk dude!) they would have asked for it. smoke that attitude fool - try walking the talk and keeping it real from now on, otherwise you can sign ma ass.

My mistake, when they interviewed Sir Vere on Mai last week, what he said led me to believe Scribe was part of it....
