Scratched Vinyl!

Help!!!! Anyone out there know how to fix a record that is sligthly scratched, just enough to make the damn needle skip over and over on it.
had this happen on a brand new tune - real annoying.

When the needle goes over the scratch just push down on the needle gently and roberts your mothers brother

If that fails i recommend using grans carving knife.
