Scratch... the Movie (Film Fest fodder)

Hey, did any of you dedicated hip-hoppers catch Scratch at the movies? Excuse my ignorance, I'm not sure if the NZ Film Festival has got to all your places yet, but I'd be really keen to hear what you guys thought of it if you went and saw it.

I saw it at the Wgtn Film Fest last night, one of only two showings!

I really fucking loved it (see what I wrote in the thread in the Flipside forum if you want to see), but then again, I'm not a hip hop expert by any means. Thinking of getting into a bit more scratch and hip hop (have been since I got hooked on Craze and P-Money) but was interested in what some of you guys thought about the presentation of the film.

Go and see it if it's coming your way, especially if your local cinema has a decent Dolby 5.1 or DTS sound system.

I wanted to see this but its the same old story for me with any film festival, theres a few films Id like to see but never get around to going.
Hopefully the Rialto will put it on otherwise I'll be waiting for it to come out on dvd.

Yeah, I've pre-ordered the DVD off Amazon. Works out to about $52. Doesn't get released in the US until Aug 13, so should get it by the end of August.

I thought the film incredibly well done and hearing the best turntablists in the world over the Embassy sound system definitely blew the mind!

Both look quite interesting, although maybe less so than Scratch.

Scratch just played here in Hamilton.
Very entertaining (though you'd have a hard time defending it as a 'good movie'), one of the best things I've seen for a while. I'd like to see Wave Twisters, but it doesn't come here.

Scratch was the most inspirational uplifting film i've ever seen about the HH scene . .bullshit free info-tainment . . and that scene definatley needs a bullshit detraction

inspiring movie it was. i loved babu and his mum ]! and all those records in the basement with dj shadow sorting through... whoa. missed breath control.... wanted to see that too. good on the film fest.

scratch was the best documentary thingy ive ever seen
the dvd sounds pretty damn good!

Yeah, unfortunately, the release of the DVD has been delayed until September 17, so I won't be getting the thing until end September. *cries*
