Michael Schumacher could be back in a Ferrari while Massa is out, undergoing a training programme over the next few days to make sure he's physically up to it, but I'd be stunned if he wasn't.

I still think they should give the drive to Badoer or Gene - their longtime testers/reserve drivers - I guess that's why they're called that. Altho, this makes for much better PR in a year when Ferrari are doing very poorly.

Maybe if Massa don't come back it will give Alonso a way into the team Confused

Just did a bit more reading and apparently the main concern isn't his fitness but a neck injury he sustained in a motorcycle crash earlier in the year. A bad neck in an F1 is definitely something that could prevent him returning.

Yeah, some random media said that but - as with all F1 reporting - the only thing to pay attention to is the team's own announcements. F1 journalism is as bad as UK tabloids in general. They just trawl through random stuff, make up a story based on it and then quote an 'insider' (i.e. themselves) to try to have the scoop story.

I had the weirdest dream last night. In it, Schumacher dies.... Crying or Very sad

Massa looks OK... It's just a scratch. Shocked

Schumacher has called it off... citing neck issues.

Luca Badoer has been called up as should have been in the first instance.

I doubt it's as it seems... the PR stunt drew tons of attention to Ferrari and the work is done now.

The latest allegations leveled against Renault seem quite serious, and given the way the harsh way that the FIA has treated McLaren lately if found guilty they should be expelled from this years Championship. Proving them may be difficult though as it's basically Piquet's word against Renault and the latter will argue that it's sour grapes after the sacked him.

Not as difficult as you might think!

Renault's F1 team managing director Flavio Briatore and executive director of engineering Pat Simonds have left the Formula One team!!! Shocked

Renault have decided not to fight the allegations that their junior driver, Nelson Piquet Jnr, was instructed to crash his car to bring out the safety car just after Alonso had pitted (early)... allowing him to basically leapfrog a dozen cars when they had to pit later.

Terrible, terrible sportsmanship in the house!
I'm worried about what that means for the future of the team... What are the chances they'll pull out next year?

Especially with Alonso apparently being a certainty to be in a Ferrari next season.
Although I wonder what this means for Piquet Jr? How many teams will be willing to hire a driver that grasses them out?

How certain is it that FA is going to Ferrari?

They should be asking if they'd hire a guy who crashed 17 times in 27 races. He's the new Nakajima except he just takes himself out, not others as Nakajima had the knack of doing.

Spanish bank Santander just signed on to sponsor them. Last time they signed with McLaren he moved there the next season.. I'd say it's pretty likely. Not sure who they'll move along though Kimi or Massa. I'd guess Kimi but who knows...

Finally he will be able to win a championship again Very Happy

W[rurld is that they would dump Kimi.

I'd read that Santander actually re-signed with McLaren Rob, after massive media speculation they would move to Ferrari.

Kimi has a contract for next year. Would cost than hiring any other driver in the world to get rid of him.

Santander has signed with Ferrari and will also extend their McLaren deal which ends next year. England and Italy are big markets for them. Ferrari's deal will be mega big tho - think they're going to be title sponsor.
