Sasha - Who Killed Sparky?

Thoughts on this one?

I bought it and quite like the melody. Mongoose is still the pic of the bunch so far for me.

Yep really good. Love it how every release so far has a totally different sound and vibe. Coma is still pick of the bunch for me though. Still get chills everytime I hear it.

I thought the 4 tracks were actually really similar - as in if you listen to the three consecutively you spot alot of sounds that are used in all three.

Mongoose is probably my second fav after Park It....I realise I said Park It was shit when I first heard it, but I take it back now

Interesting. I mean yeah, I guess from a production perspective that is right - but the vibe feels compeletely different to me on all 4 tracks.

Makes it sound alot more fluid when he plays them all in a row in one of his sets

Amazing tho every time i've played it i get the response "That's the new Sasha isn't it?" Guess there is a lot of people taking note of the new releases hes bringing out.

I don't like any of them, so much good progressive and tech house out at the moment but none coming from him.. sounds to me like he's just trying too hard.

I initially cringed at the arp melody in Sparky, but then realised I had actually missed something a bit more melodic in dance tunes...

Hell, I will be playing Trance next with comments like that...

None of them did much for my ears. They're solid-ish but uninspiring tunes which needed to have come out five years ago to be anything visionary in my books.

Crash7 is right, there is tons of stuff out there which impresses me more than these tunes.

Lank "Confrontation" is a far superior tune if you want to play some proper as fuck progressive house.

Heh just got round to checking out this thread and 'Dumbness' is sitting in my checkout right now.

I'm not sure about Confrontation I think I prefer the more Tech-House feel of Dumbness.

I like Mongoose best too but not sure when I'd play it to a dance floor if at all.

Minimal is generally 4/4 though...

I liked the b-side of confrontation a lot more than the a-side.

Yeah both sides are really good, Lank has been releasing some quality stuff.

I'm over that Sparky tune now though, really liked it at first but now it's boring the pants off me.
