Galaxy s2 (i9000) is seriously the greatest phone ever made so far :p

I am forever grateful I got it over an iphone due to the way it can be modified, doing crazy shit like playing 2 different things at the same time (ie podcast and music, which is great for running as I am doing couch to 5k). I have changed the default keyboard...

If you pick it up, and have a brain you should have no problems with it. It does have a learning curve but it's by no means steep (my mum can use it for instance).

Their screens are infinitely better for using in daylight which was pretty important for me as I work outside.

the s2 is a grand Im not paying that..the s is just like 400 which is more reasonable I change phones all the time maybe 2 or 3 a year....The Samsung phones have awesome reviews I checked tonight...yay

You will keep your smart phone for two years and then, if like me, sell it for near what you paid, if like me you got it cheapish on a plan. Helps to have unrivalled fetish object of the moment in this case.

S2 is great phone. Note is good for those wanting to cover tablet and phone in one hit. Comes with built in stylus.

QT - you can get it for much cheaper than a grand ($725~ is the cheapest)

I'd buy through Fair Buy as well, they are the cheapest and have the best service

I do piles of stuff on my iPad I used to do on my phone, so my next phone won't be top of the line.

fuuuuck what a waste of money... what the hell do you do with a $725 (more) smartphone? Aside from be dissatisfied with it in a couple of years (or less).

I use it for plenty of shit smiley, it's made me use my computer less.

Just a small list:

- track and read all my websites
- manage my email exclusively
- track my fitness - GPS data, calorie and diet tracking, running podcasts etc
- as a camera for quick snaps
- personal organiser
- virtual punchcard for my office
- GPS with all local business information
- all my banking
- weather and watch
- watch movies and tv on the go

I was definitely in your camp about expensive phones being a waste of money, now I have one I can't imagine living without it. It just makes my life easier Razz

iPhones still kick the shit out of Android except in some niche areas.

Off the top of my head the main ones I use are:

-> Use it as a USB drive (plug into computer, choose mount as HDD)
-> Swap out the keyboard (for swype, best ever)

I suppose widgets are kinda cool, but the only ones I have on my home screen are weather (meh, iPhone has temp) and calandar (which is actually shit, never did find a good one which takes no more then 4 spaces)

can you convert youtube videos to fit on a samsung phone?

whats the native format

I so wish someone could tell me how

okay fair enough, a couple of those things I've like to use too. .. But I think I'll be stuck in/content with the 20th Century for a least another year. :p

Ringtones is a big letdown for iPhones IMO. Not soooo much the fact that you can't just dump an MP3 on and go (which is lame) but the lack of profiles.

I really need three profiles that I'd use, 1) normal, 2) quiet for work and then 3) quiet for sleep which really just doesn't plan notifications when I get emails etc which my Dad tends to send early in the morning and I get them at like 4:30 am. Sux
