First there was the brain drain, now it's the sex drain.
The Aussies have taken the hosting rights of the Rugby World Cup and now it seems they want our women too.
A Melbourne sex parlour, the Grosvenor, wants New Zealand working girls to join them in Australia and make a packet tending to man's every need.
As part of the deal, interested women may get their airfares and accommodation paid.
According to its website, the Grosvenor is very classy. "The style and elegance remain constant - the plush decor, vibrant colours provide a comfortable, relaxing ambience. Our staff are helpful, friendly and offer a great variety of girls. The Grosvenor displays the highest standards in quality control ensuring that your expectations are met."
New Zealand Prostitutes Collective co-ordinator Catherine Healy said yesterday it wasn't unusual for women to go overseas to work in the sex industry.
"There is a big difference between what someone can earn in some parts of Australia to what they are paid here.
"A lot of women also go to get away from the New Zealand system which isn't as open as some places."
She warned women to carefully check local laws and conditions before taking a job overseas.
However, the flow of workers wasn't in one direction. Some New Zealand brothels also advertised overseas.
A spokeswoman for the Grosvenor yesterday declined to comment.
