Another bullshit sport that doesnt deserve to be at the olympics, same applies to golf.

Olympic sports should be sports where winning an Olympic gold is the highest achievement in that sport. Winning an Olympic gold in track and field is much more prestigous to winning a world championship.

Winning an Olympic gold in soccer, tennis, golf, rugby 7s etc is not the ultimate in that sport and therefore they do not deserve to be in the Olympics.

I don't think there should be any team-based sports at the Olympics where that discipline can only be played as a sport (so you can have 4x100 relays and rowing/kayaking but lose the likes of football and hockey etc).

And Golf is not a sport. Jeez next thing you know they'll be adding poker.

It's all about making money though. They need the likes of football. They probably don't need 7s though.

Before they get rid of the team sports they should get rid of the crap that is just judges interpretation. Those aren't sports. Like the prancing around gymnastics and moronic synchronised swimming.

Watched the 7s presentation to the IOC, it was pretty compelling and got an 80-something for vs 8 against vote. Golf was waaay more marginal.

So those in the know think it should be there. EOT.

They'll probably be able to get way more $$ for the Golf coverage and associated sponsorship than the 7s. Doubly so if Tiger is playing.

I agree. Reckon they should ditch a pile of other sports too.

Since it's there, good on them for just increasing the chance of a NZ gold medal by about 500%.

How on earth is golf not a sport? If your arguement Greenie is based as that standrad line "fat guys are good at it" .......then you have to also banish a gazillion other sports
