Is anyone thinking about going? I imagine this will be pretty epic! I'm just waiting on the prices to determine how up for it I am Smile
[quote]
Yup!
[quote]
Isnt it Feb 2012 or something? Miles off but prob need that much time to scrounge up some paper....Pretty keen
[quote]
Fark yessss. Ticks on sale 11 July.
[quote]
Yep, Feb 20, 2012.
[quote]
end o the world
[quote]
Friend saw this in London. Said it was indeed EPIC.
[quote]
this will sell out in milliseconds surely.
[quote]
My god those are some terrible seats.
[quote]
Which ones? Depends how much you're spending really. For $99, yeah you're gunna get some shitty seats. I've been looking at the $150 ones, and there's some reasonable seats available.
[quote]
Heh I didn't even look at the $99 ones. I looked at the $200 ones which were floor right at the back. Surely you wouldn't see dick from there? *never been to vector*
[quote]
Yeah I wouldn't go for floor seats myself, we got upper bowl $149 tix (top in the seating diagram). For Walking with Dinosaurs we were in upper bowl towards the bottom, facing right at the stage (left on the seating diagram) - I was pretty happy with those, great view.

Now to figure out how to blaze up before heading in when I'll be with the old man. :>
[quote]
why not do a few cones in the car with him? More comfortable for the aged than behind some tree or fence and dignified too

*why am I even in this thread, I hate the fucking wall*

with ya on this
admit it - you're here for the points.

I kinda left the Floyd at this point in their ography - because Roger had watered on it too much by then .
[quote]
wow thanks for posting this presale! Some great seats available but fuck they're pricey. Gotta figure out what I'm going to do. If it were Gilmour, I'd be throwing down for the diamond seating, but waters....we'll see.
[quote]
2nd show now added
[quote]
When will presales be up for it Razz
[quote]
Are presales for the first sold out yet? Still sorting out my life :/
[quote]
Damn I think i'll have to broke myself again to get tickets for this.
[quote]
Yeah there's still some from the first show left, pretty shite seats tho.

Second show pre-sales up now:

[quote]
gots me a good seat 2nd night metinks
[quote]
Well that was a really expensive exercise...
[quote]
Holy fuck,
first three shows have sold out, they just added a fourth, only to make the new addition the opening night!! Grrrrrr fucking grrrr.
The good thing is, the new show is the only weekend show, so there wont be as many fuckheads around.

I havent yet received my tickets yet, so I contacted ticketmaster yesterday, and their reply was due to crazy pre sales, they have only just started printing the tickets.
[quote]
expect madme sales bonanaza

Yes. Stoked he's added so many shows, as I now plan on picking excellent seats at bargain prices in a last minute ticket dump.
[quote]
People, there are still tickets available to the first night show...suck it up, borrow some money, whore yourself out, JUST FUCKING GO!!!!!

Most amazing stage show/musical/rock concert I've seen in my life...totally out of this world production which left me damn near in fucking tears at times

Melbournes first three shows were sold out, but the Saturday was still available, until Saturday morning when heaps of people who went to the other shows bought tickets to go see it again

Totally wish I'd sucked it up and bought the super pricey front-ish seats as we had a slightly limited/angled view, but still, absolutely unreal! My girl came with and she isn't a huge Floyd fan, only knew a couple of songs from The Wall album, but she was totally enraptured the whole time...GO GO GO!!!!!!!

And take some acid...if you know you can handle your shit that is! Laughing

Craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy...toys in the attic, I am craaaaaaaaaaaaaazy
[quote]
Awesome!
[quote]
Got mine sorted for the 20th!!

".....But in the town it was well known, when they got home at night, their fat and psychopathic wives would thrash them within inches of their life.."
[quote]
Should be good! VERY GOOD
[quote]
I'm getting chills down my spine just thinking about how good it was...Mother, Goodbye Blue Sky...argh, fucking blew me away...and The Trial complete with all the original animations on that gigantic wall, climaxing in the wall coming down...standing mother fucking ovation!!!

We left when they were doing Waltzing Matilda as an encore tho Laughing

Wonder what they'll do in NZ?
[quote]

By crikey, by jongo - I am so looking forward to this. Row 6, stage left, Wednesday night. Chur.
[quote]
Jealous Dave, I wanna see it again...can't believe I almost didn't go, only got tickets the last week leading up to the gig when I decided I'd regret it if I missed it (and I was right! haha)
[quote]
You've convinced me insanity

**Goes off to buy acid**
[quote]
I really can't imagine how you'd possibly regret it! Smile
[quote]
1 week today for me :>
[quote]
WOW. Wowowowowowowoowowoow. Just SO fucking good. I have never seen any production coming even close to being that good. If you can find tickets for the remaining shows, DO IT. Even if you're not that big into Floyd, it's totally worth if for the show alone. First half is great, second half blows you away.

Really loved how they integrated the classic Floyd visuals with modern stuff, especially how it reenforced how timeless the themes and sentiments of the whole album are and still just as relevant today.

Also I'm totally sober so you know I'm not just drunkenly ranting!

Highlights for me would be Mother, Comfortably Numb and of course the finale.

Edit: Haven't felt that young at a gig in a LOOOOOOONG time though :>
[quote]
yeah, was awesome Smile

Someone recognised me from biggie! *shrug*
[quote]
so did you all take acid?

bunch of old fucks the lot of you
[quote]
OMFG!
Thats all I can articulate at the moment. Jaw dropping, eyes misting up.....words do no justice.

Kris, I saw you walking up the stairs, I called, but you did not hear.
[quote]
STILL BUZZING

Ahhh I *think* I might have heard you, were you not far away?

Ha ha, dude, I was in the same row as you on the other side of the stair hand rail (row LL?) - right on the end. I was in full long hair rock mode, so you might not have recognised me. I had a Darth Vader/Dark Side of the Moon shirt on - Darth Side of the Moon!
We left just before intermission, and at the end while he was doing his thank you song.

No but it was oddly easy to whip outside for a few spliffs before and during the show.
[quote]
i want to go now Sad
[quote]
I want some acid

the wall not so much... I'm a windows man... or after this tab rainbows
[quote]
Only two changes could have made it better - but they are completely unrealistic things to ask for.
1: If it was the original line up (fuck even just the addition of Gilmour would do)
2: If it was Dark Side of the Moon. (I would still be there crying now)
[quote]
i hate acid.

Actually it was acid that failed me when i ended up roaming the streets knocking on peoples doors and staring at some wall in some random persons garage.

But i won't get into that.

That's what spun me out the most, was just like "wow, have we not learned anything since the kind of events that inspired this happened?!?"...some of it was downright chilling!
[quote]
Mankind hasn't learnt a thing from war in 10,000 years. Except how to kill people better.
[quote]
Entire concert professionally filmed and in full HD if anyone wants to relive it/kinda experience it

Very Happy
[quote]
How much of it could have been live do ya reckon? Had great seats, cost a lot.
[quote]
Mother Duet was the highlight for me ! :>
[quote]
I went to the Wednesday night gig; ftruly amazing.
Have to say, I really enjoyed Auckland this week as well - haven't been up for years but it seems to have found it's heart.
One of the best experiences ever too - at Soul.
Chur doy.
[quote]
oops, meant dining. Dining experiences.
[quote]
And now the special offers flood in

All of his lead vox were live (even though he sang to a double track for Mother), and Id put money down on all of the "rock" music being live.
The orchestral stuff (the Trial etc..) would have been a backing track.
The kids during Part II would have had a backing vox track too. All of the obvious stuff - soundtrack noises etc.. would have been samples or the like.
