Resourse problems

Hey guys/gals

im running win2k on a 800mhz/386mg Ram

When I view divx and play mp3s sometimes it gets a little stop and starty. I cant view movies in Full Screen mode as its really blinky.

Iv run Defrag... and progs to a min.... any Ideas as to what it could be.

What codec are you running?

that comp should be fast enough to run the movies i used a 450mhz / 256meg for a while.

is there something else accessing the hard drive?

what video card does it have ?

get the latest drivers for your soundcard.

i don't think it's a video problem, because it happens when playing sounds. the divx probably has issues because sound is part of the movie. but all the same it wouldn't hurt to get the latest drivers for your video card too.

if your sound and/or video are built-in to the motherboard then you should go to the motherboard manufacturer's web site for drivers.

it was the video card. Its a 8mg sis something old skool AGP. I got a Maxtor in it now and its sweet as.
