Been having a NIGHTMARE with Orcon. Its went like this

# Internet went down and had techie out to fix the problem at the exchange, he fixes it, notes my speeds suck (2.77Mbp) informs me I should go with Telecom if I want high speed

# Orcon calls a few days later to see if my issue was resolved. I explain that it was but I want high speed or I will switch providers, they promise to move me to a closer exchange and set a time for techie to come out

# Tech calls me 3 days later says he has made the switch, I call orccn to get it set up....which is fine, except my speeds are WORSE. Much worse.Under 2 Mpb.....And I have very frequent drop outs. Like 30 an hour. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I am suddenly unable to connect to a poker software program I use which uses a remote server

# I contact the poker software company who blame it on a proxy issue and give me instcructions to flush and reset my connections that dont work. They then blame the ISP

# In the meantime Orcon screws me around constantly, claim there a line fault that they cant identify, promise to send out techies that never show up. Each CS rep blames the previous one I dealt with etc. In frustration I drive over to Woosh and pick up a wireless set up. Connect it all, signasl is 2.55 Mpbs so not too bad, but I still cannot connet to my poker software

The poeker SW I use to Hold Em Manager www.holdemmanager.com I dont really understand it from a technical point but I know it uses a remote server (whatever that is)... ...I tried a similair program which operates the same way and encountered the same issue. All my other internet use is fine

I can def pinpoint that when I got moved to a different exchange, was when I stopped being able to access the software. However since I can now use wireless, I dont think its the ISP, but the shifting of my connection from one exchange to the other appears to have changed my settings on my PC somehow

Anybody got any ideas? Sad

HEM (unlike PE) uses locally collected hand-histories, so the only use they have for any remote connection really is to check the license at start-up that I can think of; so it's pretty weird if you can't connect to that...

Them fucking about at the exchange can't change any settings on your computer really though. If the problems are persisting with Woosh then logically it has to be a HEM issue.. I'd continue bugging them about it. Could be some issue related to your sudden IP change?

You could isolate the problem by trying with another computer from the same connection (which should be okay, since HEM allows 2-3 PCs per license.
