Recommendations for hostels/temp accomm in London?

Got to bounce from my current place on the 8th of May as they have family coming to stay so I'm thinking of going to some temporary accomodation/hostel type situ.

Anyone got any recommendations? I'm pretty sure one biggie was living at a hostel for about 18months at some point?

not sure but im looking for a new place and may need to move out sooner than the rest of my house (ie in a week) so you could always move into my room for a month, pay me a little bit so save me paying for a months full rent and not being there????

I've just done this...best thing to do is have a look on the short term accommodation section of www.gumtree.co.uk People are starting to go away for their summer hols so you shouldn't have much trouble subletting someone's room. Other thing to do is pick up a copy of the TNT magazine and have a look in their classifieds section for short term accom.

I'm in a similar position...moving 17th May but we haven't found a conversion both of us like and would like a temp place for a month.

But can someone tell me where on gumtree you look for short-term rooms? Have they deleted this section?
