So I (foolishly) took my toyota corona to toyota to get a service and a cambelt change. What do you know the brake pads need replacing as well as the CV joints and a ton of other stuff. The thing is I had it extensively mechanically checked 3 days ago and everything came out in the green.
They tell me my Camshaft and crankshaft seals are leaking, (which they most likely are at 220km's). I say ok, how much for the parts and labour. They tried to charge me
$50 + GST for each of the seals
and
$70 + GST for the tensioner and idler bearings.
Rip off. I called up another Toyota branch and asked how much those parts cost.. Seals were $19 INC GST and bearings about $50 inc GST. They also tried to charge me 2 HOURS labour to replace the seals and bearings (bearing in mind the engine is already apart and the cambelt labour is a separate cost). I told them I'd bring in my own tools and it'll take 10 mins.
Bitches.
Sorry ya'll just had to get that off my chest.
Anyone know any good mechanic courses?
