Racism in Zimbabwe

And the country is running extrememly low on food now ...the farms aren't producing enough food as the people who farmed them have been forced out.

Does anyone find this equally ludicrous?

Actually these farms aren't producing *any* food now, they are being used for resettlement. Another funny thing is most of these farms are morgaged to the hilt and the new 'owners' have no way of making the payments so the banks will be out of pocket too. I wonder what will happen when they foreclose?

Mugabe is a populist like Peters and dunne the problem with these sort of freeloaders are they are idiots when it comes to running countries.

All politians are populists, isn't that the whole point of democracy?

Yeah the country is pretty fucked, friends of ours over there said that lots of the crops are just rotting in the field. They themselves have been forced off their farm and it didn't go to any landless blacks but instead to an army general and his wife who already have three other farms.
I don't think even peters would do that.

if all the people are starving now, where they actually eating before? were the black people that now 'own' the land starving and destitute like we see in many african countries? so its not like it isn't status quo now but with black people on the land?

anyhow thats a little off the topic, it is pretty poor form by mugabe, given the impracticality of his methods... and given the fact that he is ruining an already unsteady country...

Definitelt turning into a basket case run by mugabe and a few other tyrants. If I was a white farmer I would have been out of there long ago. Its a bad way to treat people who stayed and committed themselves to zimbabwe rather than running away once they got independence.

I feel very sorry for the people of Zimbabwe.

They were f**ked over royally by white settlers, and now their been fucked over by Mugabe.

Redistrubution of the countries land is essential, but the way it has been undertaken has left no winners, just a whole bunch of starving losers.

Supamaorifulla, before this all happened the white farmers and their black and white workers grew lots of food and fed everyone.

Now there are heaps of black guys living there who have looted the place and are in the process of setting up settlements there. They are not farming the land so there is no food being produced. Also they would have probabilly done the classic staving nation tactic and eaten all the seeds which should have been planted for next seasons crops.

So no, it's not just the status quo (with the color change)
