QUINOVIC property management = crooks!

Hey guys,

Just a warning for all of you out there who are looking for properties in the Wellington area and may be tempted to let through a property management company - do NOT rent with Quinovic Property management, in particular Quinovic Vivian st.

if you value your sanity, AVOID this company like the plague! Upon moving into one of their apartments, the place was filthy - shower plug hole blocked with stinky, slimy hair, mould crusted on the walls of the shower and solidly crusted in crevices and under the glass door of the shower. All 3 mirrors were grimy with flecks all over them, windows so dirty you could hardly see through them. The white walls were covered in fingerprints and brown marks, and the bed sheets which came with the apartment were covered in mould spots. Thankfully I took photographs of all of this as evidence (came in handy when the property manager later tried to deny that the property was found in this state).

The "start" button on the washer/drier machine did not work, both wardrobe doors were broken and the fan in the bathroom did not work either. One of the window frames had a huge hole in it, too. None of these issues were fixed, in spite of my contacting Quinovic numerous times to complain about it & I was met with a very rude "you fix it" attitude from the property manager.

Then, to add insult to injury - in spite of making sure that the place was immaculately clean & tidy, I was told after the inspection that the place was "appalling". This was used as an attempt to subtract several hundred dollars from my bond in "cleaning fees" - in spite of the fact that the only thing they would have left to clean was the paint off the walls! The absolute cheek given the state of the place when I moved in!

For tenants, they are rude, slack and dishonest, for landlords, they simply do not undertake the maintenance which is required to keep the property in good condition. The broken fan in the bathroom was causing extensive dampness and mould damage around the property, which of course ultimately going to cause long term damage. Do not bother with Quinovic - There are plenty of other options out there to choose from, which operate their business in a much more professional way.

Quinovic are well-known slumlords man. Have been for years.
