Friday 1 July 2005 - HAMILTON - Catalyst
Saturday 2 July 2005 - AUCKLAND - SeventySix

“Quality Breakers returns with the first Drum n Bass edition. Why we doin this? Coz we love our DnB as much as we love our breaks and we can so we are! We will be taking the one like Presha down to Hamilton to bust up Catalyst on the Friday and back up to Auckland to rinse it QB style at 76 on the Friday. 76 in Pitt St has not seen a whole heap of Drum n Bass in the past so a new venue for the Auckland DnB heads will be most refreshing.”

HAMILTON LINEUP:
Presha, Page3, Intrinsik & Akomplis

AUCKLAND LINEUP:
Presha, Page3 & MC Twin Cam, NATO, Sippid

I dont want to be a stickler or anything CATALYST270 but it is one thing handing our free BZP based pills, but its another thing to promote their use with alcohol.

I think you have a social responsibility to endorse what the manufacturers say about their products....which is to eliminate or reduce the comsumption of alcohol...

By offering herbals after a drink purchase is a tad irresponsible IMO. Afterall ED departments are becoming cluttered up each weekend with munters who have had waaaaay to many BZP's and then drank like a fish..

I sure wouldn;t want to be responsible for NZ's first BZP related death.... Confused

I would suggest either giving them away on the door or giving them away with non-alcoholic drinks, that way everyone wins and you (as a bar manager) has not started them off with some alcohol.

I would also suggest (if you dont already) having water on tap to cater for these people.

Jus me bit!

see ya on fridee anyways Music

Valid point Coshy me old bean Wink

BZP + Excessive drinking = baad mmmmkay

BZP based products can be taken in conjunction with alcohol safely, the key word here is "Excessive" as in "unsociable drinking". Most of us here know CATALYST270 wouldn't promote a mix of the two, No bar owner would do this; severely intoxicated people alone are not desirable in any sociable situation....hell...in any situation period.

We're all mature grown ups, well at least I’d hope that at the minimum age of 18 people would have developed simple common sense, and as such when the container of something you're about to ingest, specifically states not to mix the product with heavy drinking you would take note?

Now i hate to admit being related to these people by merely species, but some will not head the warnings and end up in hospital. I honestly don't think there's much one can do to deter this calibre of moron.

As you say Cosha, you definitely don't want to be associated with NZ first BZP related death so bar owners/promoters should indeed tread carefully. But the inevitability of it is...dance events use BZP products for sponsorship and almost always have alcohol available. IMO ultimately it’s the punters responsibility.

This is purely my personal opinion and I don’t mean to sound harsh and uncaring......but I am so that’s how it comes out Very Happy

If someone is stupid enough to kill themselves this way then good riddance, one less drop kick in the world, one less grade A moron who would undoubtedly breed and spawn/raise more drop kicks thereby weakening the already failing intelligence pool of the human race...

Its natural selection in the 21st century kids, only now the stupid kill themselves off Froggy

absolutely Kas, ....but it could also mean an alcoholic drink too aye Wink

pfft.

I think you guys are retarded!

If ya gonna take that angle ya may as well say bars shouldnt be able to sell party pills at all.

Bars sell alcohol... so therefore by selling BZP are they not already encouraging mixing the 2.

... it comes down to the users responsibilty...

because bars sell a mix that is waaaaaaay worse than BZP and alcohol... its alcohol and alcohol.

lets find some stats to see how many people have died this year directly realted to consuming alcohol obtained from a bar and then compare them to the amount of people that have died from consuming alcohol and BZP from a bar.

Christ selling alcohol at all is irresponsible!! For God Sake stttopp selling alcohol!!!!!!!!!

why dont you go join Grey Power, or United future.

Besideds I am already responsible for the first BZP related death... I beat Intrinsik to death with an exodus pack.

Catalyst270- I reckon you should make it that they get a free pack of frenzy so long as there first drink is meth and raro au bay au.

Jus strains it tru da bread cuz

PS- have fun without me this weekend H-town- I'm only doin AK- needing to cut down on my gigs as its kinda fuckin me up a bit- must be all that BZP and alcohol Very Happy .

PPS- Intrinsik- where the fuck were you while I was MCin at Fu on Satdee night- you home knittin?... fagg!
[quote]
i think you guys are missing my point.

Of course the responsibility lies with the munter punter, it always has....but when that munter gets too drunk can the bar (by law) still serve them....NO...its called social responsibility.

Its the same with promoting BZP based products with the consumption of alcohol...its a bad look, just like the look that catalyst had a while back with idiots sucking on nitrous in the lil corner booth....yuk! (i remember seeing this twenty sumthing chick with her head back and her eyes closed with a flaccid balloon hanging out of her mouth!) Rolling Eyes

Also, a lot of 'promotional' packs of BZP products dont contain directions on how many to take and also what not to have them with. So if you gave this pack away to some one who didn't know as much as you and I do about these things, then they may take them (seeing as their free) and carry on drinking without realing the implications of them.....therefore it is the responsibility of the supplier to give correct information....and giving them away with a drink is just stooopid!

Oh and before you ask, yes i have mixed the two together before and i was well aware of the possible consequences....hence the sore head the next day!!

I'm just raising a point that I feel is valid....i still do agree with you guys that it is up to the munter in question, but then again if this munter does take it too far who pays for his or her little trip to the A&E to get de-toxed...you and I do (well those that pay tax anyway).

So all i'm saying is sure hand the lil fuckers out if you think its good for the bar, but just think about what your promoting them with..

Maybe its like going to a swingers bar in holland and not handing out condoms at the door aight!

peace oooout

Yeah gutted I missed that, by all accounts you ripped it up \m/

I must have left Fu before you arived, i was on a leash that night Neutral

And Coshy, just in case my rant above came across as in any way aimed at you, it wasn't....it wasn't aimed at anyone....well except stoopid people Neutral . I didn't miss your point (I don’t think), mine was basically that I don't think CATALYST270 intended to come across as promoting drink + BZP, I’ll have a word this Friday as its something that’s not been considered me thinks.

These prodcuts are illegal in Australia.

And when I came back to NZ at New Years I was amazed at how widespread the advertising had become and the usage of these BZP products was.

For the record I don't agree with making them illegal (stupid idea) but I approve of the need for dire regulation, age restriction, dossage restriction and banning advertising.

I would recommend everyone (espeically the bar owners) read the new Misuse of Drugs Amendment Act 2005.

It's all about to change very fast. Even biggie might have to drop its advertising of these producsts or face hefty fines.

WELL I TRHINK YOU"RE MISSING THE POINT!!!!!!

AND YES COSHA THIS IS AIMED AT YOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUU!!!
Smile

jesus Cosha you sound like an old bastard from Christchurch...
"them damn kids suckin there nitrous and eatin there party pills and and it's my bloody taxes payin for all bloody this ya know"

hahahahaha

You have all just fallen for some bullshit media hype saying these pills are soooo fuckin bad...

The warning on the packs isn't because consuming BZP along with alcohol is going to kill you!!!!!...

it is because it makes you feel like absolute shit the next morning and it may stop you from re- purchaising the pills.

about 5 million doses of party pills have been sold in NZ... now of course none of them would of drunk exessively with them eh.

oh and how many deaths of those 5 million doses... oh thats right, none!!!

so where in the hell is this paranoia about havin alcohol and BZP coming from?!?!?

Just cos some retarded kids in the South Island went to A&E this whole thing has blown way outta proportion... they went to A&E none of them died and one of them had 18 pills... the rest all drunk exessively.

The Government's Expert Advisory Committee on Drugs have not found any reason to ban them or make them illegal... and you just know that they would love to make any mind altering/enhancing substance other than alcojhol illegal... so keeping that in mind this conservative paranoia is fully getting out of hand.

PS- not meaning anyone on here but it is funny how a lot of people who are quite happy to take illegal drugs are pointing fingers at BZP.

heh first 20 punters to buy a drink canhave a hit on my crack pipee

Very Happy
[quote]
ok twin cam we may just have to agree to disagree on this one, i see from your posts that you are quite fond of the BZP based party pills and thats great.

I will correct you on one point tho, and that is in reference to this statement:-

"Just cos some retarded kids in the South Island went to A&E this whole thing has blown way outta proportion... they went to A&E none of them died and one of them had 18 pills... the rest all drunk exessively."

Thats quite incorrect. For example the Auckland Hospital A&E has around 20 cases each friday and satdee night of fucktards who have taken too much stuff and need rehydration thru IV driplines.

So no Twin Cam its not one case, its actually many. I know that no one has died yet but seriously if your admitting an ever increasing number of people into A&E's then the inevitable will happen.

Any anyway cam the point that I was making orginally before it got blown out of proportion was that I felt that it was irresponsble handing out BZP based party pills AFTER a munter had bought a drink....pretty straight forward statement really, and a number of people agree with me.

I do however agree with what you and rival are hinting at and that is that these products should still be available as they are an alternative to P and such, so thats all good. But at the same time the places that distribute the products should have a wealth of information (education) to provide people so they can make informed decisions.

I think you and I just share different opinyata's on this one cam, maybe we should just leave it at that.

Oh and one more thing cam, you pay taxes on your income (afterall you did attend uni, and got a degree and all that jazz) i;m sure you wouldn't want to see them wasted on things that are totally avoidable....or maybe you dont who knows

now people back to the oonst oonst!!

hahahaha!! yeah man my mind is pretty warped at times. Its actually a dig at more unfortunate people, and its quite cruel really. But i remember coming over to NZ and going to intermediate school and there were a couple of purple kids in the special classes. I think they had breathing problems or sumthing, but they always got hassled (which isn't very nice at all) and i do remember some mates many years ago (prolly after a good long munt at motion) observing that every school had a purple kid....

Every school also had a kid with a club leg or club hand!
