PSP or DS

Just wondering what people think is better a PSP or the Nintendo DS...
Thinking about what to get my daughter for Xmas and think one of those would be pretty cool... but not sure which is better.. what do you think ? "_

don't know anything about the difference in machine - but isn't it about the games that appeal not so much the device?

ie buy the one that has the games your daughter is into

What do most of her friends have? Get her one of those.

errr pretty sure her friends don't have that kind of stuff. I just can't think of anything else deece to get her for xmas.. it's all just junk out there in teh shops.. I think I'll get her the DS it comes in different colours PSP looks more "boy" kinda orientated

If she is quite young then go for the new Nintendo 3ds, cute kiddy orientated games and tings, if she's after some grunt, the the new psp Vita will be out soon....and it kicks serious ass.
The tech specs are on the ps site, but off the top of my head, its got:

dual touch screens/control (front and back)
dual analogue sticks
crazy processing power
O-LED screen (720p)
more ports than the deathstar (wifi, bluetooth, multiple cards (including sim for mobile interweb), usb, .bla bla...
front and back cameras
3 axis gyroscope (motion control)
and tons of other shit, not to mention the ps network with all their products online.

oh ok that sounds good ... I don't need to trick her into doing nerd learning stuff she loves it and will probably ask for the brain power game ... spends her free time doing maths equations which she makes up herself .

This, a million times this. My niece wanted a DS because that's what her friends have, but her Daddy (who knows best obviously) got her a PSP instead. Admittedly, a Hannah Montana PSP, but still. I haven't seen her use it in almost a year.

On the plus side, it's easier to hack a PSP and steal games, but yeah.

What a lot of he kids seem to want these days is an iPod Touch. Play all those sweet iPhone games, plus it has a camera and can do Skype and shit.

All stuff kids don't give a fuck about, it's all about the games and what their mates have.

Another point for the iOS route - kids love it, and you don't have to attach a credit card, you can buy iTunes Store Credit at most dairies and shit. $20 credit buys heaps of iPhone games, $20 doesn't buy many DS or PSP games.

I dunno, kids are pretty clued up nowadays with their tech (but like I mentioned above, if shes quite young then go for a 3ds)
and regarding the psn, sure dont give the fuckers your cc details, but you can get the top up cards from many places now. (this is what I do)

Get her a math tutor.

Hrmmm maybe...she has a thing where is she has no paper she writes on the air with her finger doing maths and writing words shes learnt....the DS thing might help her jot her notes or something....But yea she needs a tutor or something...heh kids ....

yeah ... smart kids are a little odd... the finger air writing thing used to weird me out it's quite intense like she can see it in the air what it says .. .. hard to explain..now it's like oh ok .. kids definitely aren't cookie cutters.
