Proposed Forum Section For Wgtn People

With the amount of biggie users from Wellington picking up at a fast rate now, a proposed idea for a new Forum section just for Wellington people has arisen.
To justify this, we need to know how many people from Wellington would be interested and would contribute to the new Wgtn board on a regular basis. Also if there are any other ideas to make the proposed Forum section better, then let us know.

what about others, could they not read it? what if people want to come to wgtn and want to know what's up, and, don't any other places get their 'own' bit too?!?!?!

Well everyone would be allowed to come on from all parts of New Zealand to see what was happening and contribute to the board just like it is at the moment, however you'll notice that over the last month or so a large proportion of Wellington people have joined up to the new biggie site and is no longer dominated by Auckland users.

Perhaps this idea may spark up the concept of 'If Wellington has one, why cant Christchurch or Auckland have one' .... Thats obviously something that has to be looked at later... but for now, this post is purly designed to see what the responce is like from Wellington people and to find out 'is it worth while considering creating a new Wellington Section.'

I think that promoters have started to realise this as well cause just look at all the internationals we are getting coming to Wellington lately

Yeah I agree, but what would the theme be? Would it more 'dancenet' or 'lounge'?

All the Auckland biggies have their own kinda club going, and they're always talkin' bout how they've met this person and that person and organising stuff - and how great it was at this event... and suchforth. Kinda leaves the rest of the country out of it - and since there's a decent number of peeps from Wgtn, it could be a good idea - the South Island have got their own one, after all.

It'd be easier to get the attention of Wgtn people as well I suppose?

You got it 'voiceinsideyou' - the idea is to try and grow the amount of biggie users in Wellington, its coming along pretty nicely at the moment, but once they are here, lets give them the option of knowing which city they can go to a talk about various events, clubs, people, local DJ's...It could be a combined 'Lounge & Dancenet' forum.
The powers that be have pretty much left it over to us to decide how Wellington biggie users would best benefit from having our own forum

Well thats a good point 'SiR TRaNcEALoT' - maybe that could happen....however, I think us Wellingtonians like to boost about how good our scene is to the rest of the country anyway and we accept any kind of challenge we get from fellow Aucklanders.....

Already the Scene up in Auckland is pretty mad at the moment with Auckland biggie people meeting each other by the massive at regular clubs such as 'Bed' - We are quite a long way away from that, but it just helps us grow the Wellington Biggie Community just that little bit more....

Yeah a Wellington section would totally have my vote. The whole biggie thing is good, but it's difficult seperating the Wellingtoners from the aucklanders sometimes, and wgtn based threads always drop to the bottom too quickly to be picked up on properly.

Biggie admins? Can't be that hard to setup surely?

yea it would be good put you dont want to drive a stake between Auckland and Wellington. At the moment we are One Biggie happy family. If you operate a welli and aklnd thread it may become a battle of the cities which would be really negative eh.

I do find that most threads have no meaning for my being from wellingtonn and it would be good to go to a place where all the threads that apply to me are. Instead of having to rummage through the bottom of the lists.

Yeah, go for it, I say that Wellington Deserves its own forum, saves people from Sifting through mostly Auckland Events to find out where the Welly peeps are at

It's not going to be a flop Baynesy! The Wellington Massive will take care of it, don't you worry. I personally didn't start posting here for a while 'cause there wasn't a Wellington section so I felt a bit out of my league. I reckin it'll bring more people into active posting personally.

Theres only 1500 members at present but a crap load of people dont read the forums so they havent signed up as a member...

i haven't used Biggie msg boards much lately, coz most of them are Ak people talking to each other, and even the posts say "party @ somewhere" but don't mention that's in Ak, like Ak'ers are the only ones who read the board!

I guess what we need to do now, is sought out a meet up somewhere for a future event... perhaps Hullabaloo or Tidy Trax might be an option...

I was going to go to Lighthouse on their first nite, since they planned to have Caustic and Kitty there, but then when Lighthouse couldn't fit turntables in the dj booth, that kinda put me off, you know?

Who told u that crap, there is room for turntables, we have the Stantons STR8 - 100s, very nice turntables, in my opinion they are alot bettern than the Technics, way more advanced and heaps of cool features.

Yes its good, I play mostly uplifting trance, we have a house night on friday, with that dj from Harvestors (Matty Ford)

Also have open decks night on Thursdays, and drink specials, come and check it out partygirl before you go down to welly.

yep...totally agree with a welly message board, what a great way for welly biggies to get to know each other more...also the stickers r a great idea too...good way of identifying ourselves so we don't have to try and figure out if the person in the whatever coloured t-shirt and baggies dancing over there is that biggy person you've been talking to on the biggie site for the past xxx weeks!

Well guys, the new Wellington board may not be too far away. It'll eventually happen, though the guys have a few other things to do on this site first, ie. Photo section etc... - but it will come.

Indeed - first things firt, and the photos section is egerly awaited ... although I can imagine the load on site traffic will be horrible for the Biggie peeps, at least for the first couple of weeks after the main bulk of pics go up!
