I've finally got my Jetstream Connection, and, even though I'm not really meant to run a server on it I'm gonna make the Progressive NZ archives available via FTP. At present there are about 17GB of tracks not including Mixsets.
It's gonna be a pretty tightly held user group, so you'll need to have been involved with Progressive NZ for a while to get access. You'll also be reqired to upload the odd track now and then, and, to submit charts every month.
I'll be working on the setup today. Contact me with your Biggie username and Progressive NZ (Audio Galaxy) user name and I'll decide whether you can have an acct.

OK, I have put the archives tracklisting on the FTP. The tracklistings are in MP3 Control format. You can download this package from the archives_tracklisting directory. To make a request simply build a playlist in MP3 Control and upload your MP3 control file back up to the server. I'll pop ya requests in the archive_requests folder.

Shortly I'll have the Mixsets archive up as well.

Kind of an audiogalaxy/mp3 related tek-o question but...

I d/loaded Digweed's latest G/U cd off audiogalaxy, and burnt the single MP3 file to CD using the Window's Media Player plugin from Adaptec, and it burnt the CD's as seperate tracks, not one long track.

Does anyone have a clue as to why this is? Something to do with the ID3 tag maybe?....

[quote]
Yikes... dunno how it did that...
[quote]
Geez cauld, I was hoping you could clue me up. Weird, innit?
[quote]
I'm baffeled. Unless the clever little package trotted of and gota CUE sheet for the CD based on the ID3 tag.... hmmm... very strange.
[quote]
I wouldn't use that windows cd burner thing...I've found it tends to be a bit weird, I've had it create CDs that it thinks are readable and finalised etc but actually aren't

I'm a big fan of feurio
www.feurio.com
[quote]
I think that might be the case - Apparently it searches the AMG database (www.allmusic.com)for track information, so if the data in the ID3 matches the title maybe it uses that info when burning the cd...

How cool.

[quote]
I don't think Hotline is dead!! They seem to have
some trouble with their downlaod link. I am
trying to set up a FTP but there is no good FTP
softwares available for Mac. If anyone knows of
any good Mac FTP software do let me know and
I will be glad to set up a FTP.
[quote]
Hmmmm.... well I use hotline a bit... the OSHO server looks OK (The requests section looks good, the archives are as disorganised as mine and don't seem to have the same level of depth). Just upping a cpl of requests now. Pity you're not offering free membership as I do with Progressive NZ..... oh well...
[quote]
yeah, go progressiveNZ!!!
[quote]
gonna be a FTP war......
[quote]
I'm always gonna win... I have tha technology!!!... OSHO runs on a Mac *makes poo pooing noises*
Ask 'p r o g r e s s', I set his FTP account up from the dinner table last night by using my iPAQ to terminal service into my server and remotely run the ftp manager.
*flexes muscles*
*ripples kegpack*

Hahahaa... nice one cauld.

Leave the mp3 sharing to audiogalaxy I say.
Use hotline for what it was designed for... sharing warez and dodgey digicam movies.

Shit. I'm really missing progressive NZ but I don't have any HD space left! Have to start deleting some of this porn I guess.
[quote]
chris, I'd love to participate. The only reason I haven't been involved already is I can't get Audio Galaxy through my firewall.

I have some nice tracks to offer though...

helix, can you get the tracks on to cd, and we will
upload it for you?
[quote]
yeah... but I'd need someone to tell me if the tracks are already up. No point in me dupicating what's already there.

Full vinyl rips (as MP3s) are wanted I take it?

Can offer (for example)
Tranquility Base : Razorfish
Orange : Orange 1, Orange 2
Heaven Scent (POB remix)

etc

for examples of other tracks see www.djhelix.co.nz
