Ya'll know it, ya'll love it...was bored yesterday so decided to fish out my favs from that circa 2003 era of progressive breaks deliciousness and through them together in whatever haphazard way I could.

Just under 100MB, 192Kps MP3 found here...

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=F8EFT6WI

Music

I have the track listing if anyone wants it...been discussed a lot here that some people don't want 'em, some do...think that's more in regard to new mixes/music though rather than older stuff ya'll probably know anyway.

But it's tracks from Bedrock, EQ, GU, Electrofly, Kilowatt, Release, SOG, MTheory, Cold Harbour and 3BeatBreaks.

1 mix just isn't right, mixed it too early, too much going on, tracks don't quite work together. And one mix I wanted to make loooooooong to get really far into the new track, so mixed over the last breakdown, didn't quite catch the drop right, but it's only a few secs of iffyness before dutifully corrected. Other than that, all pretty solid other than those two, and hey, not a mix to get me gigs or nothing, just did it for fun and knew some of you lot would like it.

Peace.

Ahh i remember 2003-2004 were huge for progressive breaks. My 2004 mix cd had a heaps of breaks on it, from the likes of chable, fretwell, dylan rhymes, hybrid etc..

That takes me back, you just cant seem to find quality prog breaks like that anymore Crying or Very sad

Track lists are essential if you want to do the scene a favor and actually educate people on what they are listening too. It's not about the Djs it's about the punters.

If you're worried about Djs prejudging your mix or stealing all your tracks then I can see cause not too include them.

I tend to hold the opinion of the punters over the Djs though, how often do you see the Djs on the dance floor?

nice one - Seems not many people are into this stuff. I love progressive breaks.

You often hear tracks sprinkled through progressive house sets but not alot of full sets. I plan to record one soon myself. Mr. Green

03 to 04 was such a great moment for breaks .... Everything was fresh and new, and the peeps coming to gigs didnt give a fuck aboout what genre of breaks you were playing... It was all just cobbled together with whatever you could get your hands on. Adam Freeland, Atomic Houligan Phil K Chable fretwell Coombs Dan F & Meat Katie.... They were all on the tip of it.

Dam hard to find these days.... Although there still are a few peeps doing it... Fretwell & Boom Jinx have been restoring my jaded faith lately.

I think I have a greta mix from that era poking about somewhere...

Lee Coombs is still the man.

Yeah but almost none of those guys make anything like that any more

I guess you gotta make a living, and explore new ground.... It just seemed that back then the ideas in the music were so fresh

Didn't want to put Gyromancer (over done) or Voices (not proggy enough) on it...and didn't have his remix of Creamer K's "Wish You Were Here" in Oz with me.

What else is there that's in the prog-breaks vein?

I'd class msot of his stuff as prog breaks? I think we might have slightly diff. definitions of prog breaks tho.

At least:

Intensify remix
Shed my Skin remix
Flow remix

Ain't got any of those...try the mix on for size still!

You should look them up. All as good as Wish you were here.

Will def have a listen when I have headphones that aren't shithouse.
