Producer(s) of the year?

Right after alot of heated discussion over many weeks, Mike V and I have come to the agreement that these two producers deserve the title.
Huge amount of releases, all quality and nearly all in the charts.

yeah i'd agree with that. i'd have to nominate Jerome Isma-Ae as well though

add to those Chris Micali and Micah.

I actually think Deadmau5 started off great last year and has gotten progressively less cool. He's done some awesome tunes for sure, but the monotony and formula is def creeping in.

Agreed, his tunes, whilst good, seem to lack that "x" factor that seperates a good tune from a great tune.

Theres so much new stuff coming from new producers that its hard to pick a single outstander at the moment. Deadmau 5's production is certainly 10/10 and Faxing Berlin is one of my fav tunes this year so I'll give my vote to them.Its prog for munters - hands in the air end of set bliss!

very surprising no mention of Dusty Kid from you lot.

production level and diversity is off the chain imho.

not really prog but kind of, i have sick fetish with anything touched by Stephan Bodzin atm.

The thing about Dusty Kid, is his sound is really not all that different to what he's been doing for the past couple of years under Duoteque. Still great stuff however.

Spiritcatcher (consistantly delivering really cool tracks , very lush house)

Sebastian Leger ( also consistantly delivering quality, though has been getting a little formulaic of recent)

Huntemann & Bodzin - (together or on their own , these two have been delivering some destroyers)

Jim Rivers (has stepped up his production, proper prog house)

Rene Amesz - (also has taken his production to the next level of recent wikked tech house and prog tracks)

and defnitely feeling the dusty kid

I've been a huge fan of Rene Amesz for years. Really cool forward thinking music! His remix of "Dibiza" is fucking cool.

Producers who have been standout for me...

Patrik bjorkman - Just really interesting glitchy tracks. Loven all his stuff.

Kriece - Awesome production. can get a bit same same, but love it none the less

Stian Klo and collaborations with tronso

elusive - again just some interesting music.

deadmau5 and Roland Klinkenberg hands down!

Caught Kriece dj a month ago nice tech house, he hails from perth of all places, i quite dig some of his stuff. i tried to get a copy of his remix of Aphex Twin - Windowlicker off him, but the mofo wouldnt part with it lol

Diggin Stan Klo as well, really nice chilled precussive prog house, Danny Howells has been a big caner of his choons

as much as he does some absolute cheese fodder house b/s, his more underground styled tunes and production partnerships have been growing in strength with some brilliant releases in the last 12 months...




also, Funkagenda are definately rocking my boat at the moment, anytime they do a dub mix of anything, you know its going to be extremely well produced.

Of those that haven't been mentioned, Guy J has been releasing some great stuff this year. Definitely one of the best newcomers.

Also, much like everyone else I've really been digging pretty much everything Deadmau5 puts out.

Kriece was pretty good , was a good tech house and prog blend. Pretty lively behind the decks as well
