Because many people don't know he's lying. They just take his word for what he says.

Because he's 374 years old and is going senile.

860 Billion Dollars = NOT NEW SPENDING.

It's only 289 billion more than the current budget used by the bush administration. By comparison, it's only 66 billion more than his budget >_<

Can't get video to work anywhere so perusing live update sites, LOVED this:
The candidates will have demarcated areas of the stage that they may walk around in. Each candidate has had their territory marked by urinating wolves, who were later shot by Sarah Palin, with helicopters.

Obama is losing, he needs to start speaking with more authority.

At around the 10:08 mark, John McCain calls General David Petraeus the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. He actually heads up U.S. Central Command.

Has there been any political cross-dressing from the candidates tonight?

Obama fucked up there. Its not really custom for the candidates to shake hands but they do shake the hands of the wives. McCain came up and showed his wife towards Obama to shake hands ... Obama should have gone for her hand not his.

The McCains and the Obamas moved about the stage separately for a little while after their debate, greeting people on the stage, but not each other. Then John McCain tapped Barack Obama's back briefly and Obama turned and reached his hand out. Rather than shaking it, McCain directed him to his wife, Cindy.

If it wasn't clear on TV, photos showed that the two men did shake hands after Tuesday's contest.

So you dispute that McCain, unlike Obama, has a two decade record of pursuing electoral finance reform, the defeat of corruption and pork barrel politics, and has actually achieved major change?

Do you SERIOUSLY want to compare their legislative records?

No of course not but they contribute like everything else a candidate does in the run up.

Imagine that a candidate puts in such a strong performance that it helps tip a swing state just enough in his direction to get a majority and then this shows up in polls before the election, what impact does that victory have on the candidate and other swing states when they hear of the turn?

I have no idea haha but it all helps is what I'm saying.
