As a warm up to our launch in august, presence would like to give all you lovely people the opportunity to cast your eyes over our Guaranteed Future Hero’s who will be managing each imprint and first on our list is none other than, Mr. Scott Fo Shaw.
Scott Fo-Shaw is a young up and coming DJ and producer based in Skipton (near Leeds), North Yorkshire. In a very short space of time, Scott has gone from being unknown to having his tracks and remixes charted and played by the likes of The Tidy Boys, Carl Nicholson, Andy Farley, Jp & Jukesy, GRH and Sam Townend
His style would be described as funky hard house and it's widely accepted that this fresh faced 16 year-old will soon be a big name in dance music. After working with and engineering for: Sam Townend, Digital Kid, DJ GRH and various other DJs and producers, Scott is well on his way to achieving his goals and has more experience than most for someone of his age. At this young age, he has already had one of his tracks reach number 1 in the Tidy Digital chart and the debut release on his label (Adrenaline Digital) went straight to number one in the hard dance chart on Trackitdown.net.
Scott himself is an extremely determined young man, and his list of his influences include Tidy, Paul Maddox, Switch, Massive Attack, BK, Untidy and Ingo . For someone so young, Scott's flawless mixing and spot-on productions are second-to-none he receives great feedback on all his demo mixes and CDs. Recently, three of his works of art were featured on JP & Jukesy's Tidy Weekender 10 warm-up album, featured on Tidy Digital as a free giveaway.
By the age of 16 Scott had already played his first under age gig, secured his first residency for Blessed and been signed to one of the UK’s top up and coming DJ agencies (Breed Management), alongside DJs such as: JP & Jukesy, Carl Nicholson, GRH and many other up and coming DJs. He has already achieved more than many could dream of in the music industry and he will definitely go on to be a big name within the dance music scene. Now at the age of 17 he has already played for events such as Nu:Religion, XStatic, Storm and Deprivation.
He has played alongside DJs such as: Paul Janes, Lab 4, Kernzy & Klemenza, JP & Jukesy, Cally Gage, Lee Pasch, Mark H
Quotes:
''In a dynamic scene that constantly takes influence from other dance music sub-genres, it's required to shift with the times and stay cutting edge - as well as appealing to a hard dance market. Young producers have grasped this with open arms and apply 110% into their learning of production. Currently flourishing at the top of this crowd is Scott, who I have had the pleasure of working with. Scott's experimental nature combines bizarrely, but effectively, with his effortless skill and the result is a trademark sound that already has seen the crème de la crème (such as the Tidy Boys) asking him for his productions. All this from a lad who has barely touched 16. To say he is 'one for the future' is a clichéd pisstake - keeping up the good work should see Scott make some serious waves in dance music'' - DJ GRH (Tidy/GRH Recordings)
‘'Scott Fo Shaw is without doubt the pioneering force behind the 2007 revolt to the Funkier side of Hard House, taking it back to its roots Scott provides 110% clean cut four to the floor production that is guaranteed to blow a hole in any dance floor on this planet!’' – Carl Nicholson (Tidy/CN Recordings)
''Keep your eyes and ears peeled for Scott Fo-Shaw. He’s definitely going to be a name for the future. He’s be churning out some fresh, fun, and funky hard house tracks of the highest quality lately, and its amazing to think that he’s still so young. I’ve been playing his tracks everywhere I play now, and they always go down a treat! This lad will go far!'' - The Colonel (Tidy)
"Scott Fo-Shaw in my eyes has pretty much come out of nowhere, an excellent producer providing the scene with some awesome tracks with a great fresh feel. A definite star of the future" - Nathan M (Relapse)
‘’Without a doubt Scott Fo-Shaw has been on fire with his productions. They remind me of the old skool Untidy Dubs sound. There are not enough producers making fun hard dance at the moment and every time I hear a tune from him, I get a smile from ear to ear!’’ – Andy Rise (Cyberkitten)
