Did anyone check out Robert Fisk's blurb on how he got beaten up in Afghanistan? It's quite a bizarre piece of writing: he describes a horrible attack, he gets severely bashed by a mob when the car he is travelling in breaks down, but then says "it's ok because they are poor downtrodden refugees and I would do the same in their position". OK not detracting from the shit lives these people have, it's a little too close to the popular defence of "I was raised with violence therefore it's ok for me to whack my wife/children/random strangers on the street around". hmmm. So much for Robert being the voice of reason.
