See, Hawkes Bay won seven from ten and I was delighted.

They have a home quarter final and I am chuffed. I am going to napier to watch the game next weekend.

If they make the semi's I'll have a jaunty skip in my step.

If they make to the finals, I'll be beside myself.

If they somehow manage to actually win the ANZC I'll probably faint with excitment.

But win or lose, they're my home side and that is what really counts.

Well, I've reflected on Auckland's entire body of work and in comparison this season's Auckland side are the most awful pile of rabble to grace Eden Park's home dressing room for as far back as anyone can remember. They practically stunk out the entire competition this season. Has provincial rugby seen a worse defending champion?

If you're gonna bask in the glory of past victories then you best be prepared to wallow - balls deep - in your own shitty, mess of a year.

Because if you're not prepared to do that then you're nothing but a glory-hunting, band-wagon jumping, fairweather fan - as shameful as that mob running around in blue and white this season, pretending to be a representative rugby team.

If I were a glory-hunting band-wagoner, I would not have been such a public supporter this year, would I?
