Big ups to Northland for their 21-13 win!

Auckland are very much a work in progress, but you'd think with all that raw power they could beat a celler dweller like Northland.

Anyway, for those of us whose teams made it to the quarters a big weekend next week in the ANZ Cup!!

Auckland lol

What is LOL about the most successful team in the history of provincial rugby?

Aren't you some Canterbury fan, nacoa?

A team with 11 FEWER titles than Auckland?

Come back in 12 years, if you win every year from now on, and you can talk. Until then, it's just a little boy yapping away at a man who slipped over on oil.

One game, one season = meaningless. It's about history.

OK... well 1 second ago is the past... so what is it? Today's game is in the past, so it obviously doens't matter

And we won it FUCKING LAST SEASON!
Kiwis have absolutely short term fucking memories...

See, Hawkes Bay won seven from ten and I was delighted.

They have a home quarter final and I am chuffed. I am going to napier to watch the game next weekend.

If they make the semi's I'll have a jaunty skip in my step.

If they make to the finals, I'll be beside myself.

If they somehow manage to actually win the ANZC I'll probably faint with excitment.

But win or lose, they're my home side and that is what really counts.
[quote]
lol Vads.

Face it. Your team is shit. Past titles count for nothing when each new season is started.

Besides, I believe that all titles acheived in the amateur period don't count. Wink
[quote]
Again, it's a lousy competition. A local side here won almost 200 straight games, does that make them better than Auckland? The NPC is rubbish, the NPC is a farce.

OK, so Don Bradman is irrelevant. Whoever scored most runs in 2008/09 = world's best batsman. Right?

Why do you get to say that the past doesn't matter, then say the past does matter (the last game is the past). What is your rule for defining what matters and what matters?

Actually if you only count from 95 onwards, Auckland is even more disproportionately successful :>

yeah dont ya think thats even worse seeing ya won it last year and now your not even in the quarters?
[quote]
Blah blah that 16 titles arguement again. Roughly half of those belong to North Harbour you have admitted as such

Anyhow......The NPC is now a 2nd rate provincial rugby competition by definition vadz, when exactly are you going to get with the times and start supporting the BLUES. Who are the AUCKLAND team scrapping at the real coalface now

btw While Auckland havent exactly failed at the Super rugby comp, they are not the benchmark of success. Canterbury are

Of course we're talking about the Crusaders. Laughing

Fuck that was embarassing, what is wrong with us?!We had everything to play for and still couldn't get up for it.

Have a bunch of friends from up north who will be making my life hell for the next year at least because of this. Only game I've really cared about all season.

Painful.
[quote]
I'm sure the NZRU are rapt that someone actually cared about the game, MC Gooch.
[quote]
Wow, Auckland are only the SECOND best team in the Super 14. Fuck, we suck :>

I didnt say that Razz

You might upset the many nelson and marlborough biggies, like rogueone and elro Froggy

Title wins trump finals appearances. Blues definitely the second best at Super Rugby.
[quote]
There goes Vads on his "reflect on the entire body of work" rant.

Well, I've reflected on Auckland's entire body of work and in comparison this season's Auckland side are the most awful pile of rabble to grace Eden Park's home dressing room for as far back as anyone can remember. They practically stunk out the entire competition this season. Has provincial rugby seen a worse defending champion?

If you're gonna bask in the glory of past victories then you best be prepared to wallow - balls deep - in your own shitty, mess of a year.

Because if you're not prepared to do that then you're nothing but a glory-hunting, band-wagon jumping, fairweather fan - as shameful as that mob running around in blue and white this season, pretending to be a representative rugby team.

If I were a glory-hunting band-wagoner, I would not have been such a public supporter this year, would I?
