If you won't pass at a testing station, stay off my roads!

Mad

what about the people that can't afford a cert but do high quality work?
[quote]
Yeah I dont think I would refer anyone to a dodgy wof place lol, prefer not to have non-compliant cars anywhere near me. Although in saying that I had a friend 2 weeks ago have her wof declinded on her Integra at Honda, due to condensation in her taillights!?!?! Quoted her $600 to replace I told her to tell them where to stick it and took her somewhere else to get a WOF lol

I get mine done when it gets serviced, hasn't failed yet.

I hope my mechanic appreciates my new dent!!

I normally wouldn't tell anyone about this place as your pretty much guaranteed to pass but seen its crash7....

Marua road g.a.s in ellerslie.
Those dodgy arab's gave me a warrant with cut springs, 5percent tints one time.
The funniest thing was that they couldnt get a jack under the car to check it so they ticked it off without checking lol

Dont tell too many people about this place though

i read this thread a while ago and didnt think too much about it. BUT, today my girls car failed her warrant at the Vehicle Testing Station. So she got the things fixed but there was one thing they said couldnt be fixed except for a grand, And the issue was the headlight beams werent straight. Huge safety issue not.
So fuck that, we went to Marua Rd Gas.
Sweet.
They actually told us more about the 'up-coming' maintenance - and were half the price.
cheers m1lfb8

Total load of bullshit to think that if you can't pass at a Testing Station that your car is unfit for the road.
I'm sure that if I could be arsed looking that I could find a number of things that testing stations do not test for that are safety issues, aswell as a number of things that they test for that are not safety issues at all.

I've found a mechanic for my car who makes sure my car is safe but doesn't ping me because my sunviser is 1cm too large...
[quote]
Headlight beams are a safety issue btw peat, usually for oncoming cars, you should get it checked out, but it shouldnt cost that much unless the car has been involved in an accident, I think...
[quote]
you are right ratbag
the car was involved in an accident prior to purchase (which wasnt hidden from her) but had passed a warrant 6 months ago when she bought it. the VTS said the laws had changed 3 months ago. So either the warrant the seller got was dodgey or, the law deemd the car to be safe 6 months ago but not now.
Yes I will check the lights out at the next opportunity. I think its unlikely that they are badly enough out of alignment to be a safety issue for other drivers. Either way tho I doubt she'll spend the grand on fixing it and if thats ethically wrong well shoot me heheh.
A grand is a fuck load of money.
[quote]
Indeed. Smile

heh, especially when it's the other guy that might end up in a tree Cool
[quote]
well as I said I'll check it out and make sure its not like that!
They have already of course been adjusted to as close as ideal as possible.

Yeah they are a little bit strict over some silly things, I had to argue to a guy about my car once. My skyline has the standard 4 circular brake lights but it also has a tail-light on the rear spoiler. He was trying to tell me that because its their it HAS to work. Tried to explain to him the fact that since it had been imported it has never been working and the fact is it has never even been connected (Pulled out the wiring kit for it from the boot), he finally gave it to me. Since then I hooked it up just to save the hassle Rolling Eyes
