Also the new pioneer djm 5000 finally goes midi clock.

It is a 19" rackmount mixer with heaps of functions.

Definitely a competitor to the Ecler evo 5.

For less than 2 of these you could buy an Allen and Heath 4D which is way better for digital djing than these will ever be. (Controller and mixer!)
If they want to design for digital dj's, lose the cd player and design something that is portable!

I'm not convinced it's the right step to be honest..

Looks cool, but not really what I'd look for from a purely digital Dj perspective.
Far better options out there!

would have to agree with you there - the only benifits I could see was the mutiple ways you could have music - sd card, usb and dvd music box...

looks bulky and flash but think that if you had a midi controller and lappy your set to go really Music

They are trying to give people a software DJ experience with hardware. But the problem is that any DJ that invests in these would have to be certain that clubs will have them too, so he can just turn up with his memory stick and play. These have in-built midi support for Traktor and Serato though, so that's pretty good. DJs can still bring their laptops. But in a way that seems to defeat the purpose of all the features these CDJ2000s have built in. They may have left it a little late. So many DJs have already moved to laptop & midi-controller.

Massively overpriced while being massively under featured.

Complete fail IMO.

They have also released the 900's which may be better bang for buck but still appear to be missing the wave form which really shouldn't even be a 'feature' any more.

Pretty lol to be honest considering what's else is on offer these days.

Yeah they are 5 years behind all the other manufacturers.

They are playing catch up.

As far as the djm 5000 mixer goes, I reckon the ecler's evo's still leave it dead in the water.
