Photoshop problem

Im trying to open some jpgs from a cannon powershot, and photoshop wants to open them as new files.
Its really strange, I can open others from the same cam, but not these ones. Any ideas?

open them in something else and resave?

Yeah I tried this and it didnt work. Im picking there must be something wrong with the actual file, even though I can view them with the
windows pic viewer thing.

I don't understand the problem.

You are opening directly from the camera? And photoshop opens them as untitled?
If that's the case, why is that a problem anyway?

Just trying to get a handle on it

Ive been given a usb stick with a bunch of photos on it for work.
Most of them open (all shot with the same cam) but one folder just wont open.
When I drag them in to PS, it wants to create a new file altogether.
But windows/paint etc can open them no worries.?!?! Its weird.

so open it in paint and RE save as a new file?

Tried paint, save as a new jpg...still wont work.
No errors...PS just brings up the "new file" box...with the options, attributes etc..
