Hey curious on everyones fav re:mix cd? My fav still to this day has gotta be the dec 2000 cd mixed by tim phinn (most beautifull deep house still tharash it) Love is the answer , love is the answer Smile
[quote]
yup agree
[quote]
Nah, disagree

1st = between the latest - Soane's; and the first - Roger Perry's.
[quote]
I disagree also,

Favourite: SOANE'S
[quote]
roger perry's was tight... philippas was good too if only for the bright lights - headlights... damn thats a tune..
[quote]
Philippa for me - smooth & tight mix, & takes me back to lots o good times. I think there's some mayor blunders on Soane's latest one - Tim Deluxes 'We all love sax' gets masacred by the Soane/Dick Johnson song, it never should have been mixed at that point - don't know what's up with that - sounds like a train wreck even though it's in time - just not right - I'm sure there's a good reason - love to know why though. I was a little dissapointed as he is one of my fav's.
[quote]
strong words there mr Mata - but I agree.
merits to all the cd's esp. Philippa is excellant
with the mixes long & tight, Emerson's
tracklisting is wikkid, & M.Bundy does wonders
groove.
What about Churchill's?
[quote]
I think Philippa's for me too. I love that album. Especially the circulation mix of supreme beings of leisure, whatever that track is!
[quote]
DirtyDC - What you rekon about it though? Like I said - I'm a bit mystified as to why?
[quote]
Manuel Bundy then Philippa
[quote]
my choice...1st-Phillipa; 2nd Manuel Bundy; 3rd Soane
[quote]
1st- Tim Phinn - funky as

2nd- Greg Churchill - just wicked, typical greg churchill

3rd- Phillipa - sexy basslines but what else would expect from phillipa
[quote]
Manuel Bundy has my vote - then Soane!
[quote]
definatly Manuel Bundy
I listened to that everyday for soo long.
[quote]
Worst remix cd???
definately Clinton Smiley
[quote]
nah, the worst remix cd is without a doubt that hardhouse bollix they tried with siren - that was the worst fucken cd i've heard in my life. & it's not that i hate hardhouse - i went to carl cox last year thought that was amazing BUT that cd was utter crap IMHO.
[quote]
I wasnt a fan of Philippa's to start with, but it grew and grew on me until now I could say that it is my favorite to date.

The more I listen to Emerson's the more I like it too. I think Emerson's disc is the closest to being like hearing him play a set.

Soane and Churchill's are good but lacking in something that I cant put my finger on.

OKAY I will admit that I liked Havoc's disc for a while (dirty beatnicks & khp being the stand outs) but I had seen enough Havoc sets to know he couldnt have possibly mixed that in one take.
[quote]
I really like Manual Bundy's one too! Its my second favourite! Wink

[quote]
to be honest mata, I've listened to it only a
couple of times but can notice some hiccups.
However, in contrast to Emerson's it's at about
the same level. Although Emerson keeps long
subtle mixes going where Soane sounds
hurried or like it was the first take. good listing
apart from the intro.
[quote]
gotta agree Sirens cd was crap, love the churchill cd as well

Soon we both would be completly twisted
[quote]
ditto on sirens cd, it should on other mags like b2b, wat was re:mix thinking? using a tube top gal to improve magazine sales?? mmm...
on the other hand, i swear that emersons mix s my lullaby - so smooove that my copy of the whole mix s recorded as one track, bad quality control @ re:mix i 'spose, bummer Sad
[quote]
My favourite's the Emerson Todd. I do like the Soane, but not as much as I feel I should - if you know what I mean? I can't figure out what I don't like about it, entirely.

I missed a lot of them, though, which is dissapointing. Never mind.
[quote]
Anyone know if we can get ahold of australian remix cd's i was looking at the australian dec issue of the remix cd on www.thescene.com.au and it looks very very nice
[quote]
Mata & DirtyDC..... Get over yourselves and stop
being try hard train spotters, I suggest you listen
to your own mixing before slagging others.
[quote]
Riiight.
please note homo - sorry I mean Magoo,
that calling you a homo is slagging. My noticing a
hiccup on the cd is not. Obviously something
your ears aren't tuned for. I actually enjoy his cd
and his sets as well as respect him personally.
Can I assume you've heard me play out then?!
If you are finally going to post here, then try not
shoot your mouth off! HOMO
[quote]
magoo like the blind dipshit yeah. sounds like you picked a good name
[quote]
oops i was disrespectin Manual Bundy, his was super wikkid
[quote]
Magoo!!!
[quote]
Chuckle Chuckle, classic touch, just classic! Well, I heap 10,000 more times respect than slag when it comes to my favourite Auckland DJ. I don't have any problems with what I said - I'd like to personally ask what's up with it. I would never ever slag the man - I've got nothing but respect and admiration - but I can give my own opinion on something - and that's what it is. If you don't think it's true, let me know - and give me something other than a slagging in return - and maybe I'll be all the wiser for it. I don't even consider myself capable of trainspotting - but I will say this - when you play music you have a curse put on you - and that curse is to critically listen to mixes, you just can't help it (speaking for myself here - but for me it's one way of learning). I can listen a lot better than play. And I be slaggin myself waaaaaaayyyyyy way way more than anybody else - if you did play - perhaps you'd know that's how it works.
[quote]
Any thoughts on who should do the next Remix
CD???
[quote]
Magoo!!!
[quote]
Hey Touch - maybe you made Magoo change his name - Remix only has 2 posts - maybe a quick new credible alias offerering support to his old blind dipshit alias.
[quote]
True nuff mata, my fav dj is me and the worst dj I know is me, but I'll do the remix ting if I have too. Trainspotting house is a fucken nitemare with 5000 choons released a week it's quite hard to keep up yeah
[quote]
mata and DirtyDC trainspotters?? No way! Who would ever have thought...
[quote]
in reply to Remix - how 'bout Phully, Radley, or
myself?
[quote]
Next Remix CD... Timmy Shumaker - bring on some breaks!
[quote]
Manuel B,Roger P,Philippa, Emerson, Tim Phin all good remix cd's, Soane's not as good as his Lightspeed by a long shot.I'd really like to hear Ed(he's been rock'n lately and his george fm show is wikkid) on the next or maybe Paul Dean
[quote]
I really enjoy Soane's contribution to remix, its an awesome cd for summer and deserves a notable mention along side phillipa's and greg churchills mixs which are fantastic.

thats guys keep the groove going!
[quote]
Homophobic (hope that is not to many syllables
for you) as I am assuming DC stands for dopey
cunt !!
The last time I heard Homo bantered around
was when my seven year old nephew was
playing around with his mates.. but its ‘wicked’
to know there are still some rednecks out there.
The point I think yourself & Mata missed is
Soane’s CD had what 14 wicked tracks on it
and instead of acknowledging how good the
majority of the CD was, in true NZ fashion you
attack one minute hiccup and dwell on the
negative. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion
sure, but is there any need to post it here. And
yes Touch I must say I liked that myself
[quote]
ta magoo, nice to see you appreciated it, no malice
[quote]
Magoo - you are a complete waste of time.
these are boards for conveying our feelings on
whatever, and for you to say I can't have an
opinion here is just fucked. Who do you think
you are?
Just because you'd rather slander someone
and their ability rather than offer an opinion
yourself.
Do you jump to conclusions often? At what point
did I say the cd was crap?
I bow down to you cause you are so much better
than us all and Soane who I've just been
speaking to at DMC about it.
You don't know me, my background, or my
contribution to the dancescene, which I'm sure
is far more than what you give. HOMO!
[quote]
Get your hand off your cock... and your head out
of your ass, I do know who you are, and your a
one minute wonder, I suggest you re-read what I
wrote and maybe I should lend you magoo's
glasses. I think you were the one slandering
Soane's abilities if im not mistaken.
[quote]
and I hand it over Dirty
[quote]
Yes you are mistaken as I was agreeing with a
comment from mata, as opposed to open
slander. Go have a re-read and get back to me
eh?
btw. I do not try to stay anonymous and suggest
for you to have the balls to lend me your glasses
in person well..... HOMO!
I know where to get some bi-focals if you want.
[quote]
back to you Magoo
[quote]
Magoo - "I think you were the one slandering
Soane's ability if I'm not mistaken"

Try not think so much. Say what you know!

HOMO!
[quote]
careful Magoo - you're posting opinions.
we wouldn't want that now would we?!
[quote]
ok kids lets us just stop for a moment here and calm down a touch (get it). I think you will find that Dirty and Mata probably have more respect for Soane than most of us as they really know how good he is. Magoo you were not to know this as you are resonably new to this game, but your point is valid from where you are standing. As for the homo bit an insult is an insult whether it is arsehole, fuckwit, or cunt all should be taken the same. strong feelings need strong words and homo is a pretty strong word. both of ya seem like nice fullas so cool yourself and listen to sum choons, I recommnd
Theo Parrish
Rhythm & Sound
[quote]
fuck off touch you homo!!
[quote]
hahahahahaha dats good man
[quote]
Nah - sorry touch. And thank you for your
parental-esque guidance, you are right, no
more.
All I can say is that House music is my life and If
1 person doesn't like what I do then I'd be some
hypocrite saying they are wrong to believe it.
[quote]
Magoo, you're an uptight loser!
[quote]
no it's too late now D I'm crying and I'm not talking to you anymore. Oi post on my thread ya bastard
[quote]
Yawn !!! thanks for the reality check Touch... oK
im now gonna blame all this on Mata....bastard.
DirtyDC (great you don't hide behind an alias) I
will come and say hi next time your playing and
bury the hatchet so to speak.
Doogle !!! need I say anymore.
[quote]
yeah - but I suggest you do It soon as I'm only a
1 minute wonder and won't be around for very
long.
I'm the type of guy that would not hold a grudge
and would gladly get to know what makes you
tick. All said and done, I apologise to you I
promise I won't bury the hatchet while you have
your back to me
[quote]
ooohh how nice
[quote]
Leave a thread to do some work and look what happens - all the shit gets pinned on me - the humour has been worth it though - all worth it!
[quote]
sweeeeeeeeet fullas, well i guess it made good reading.
[quote]
thanx for the entertaining readings, y'all. as for next re:mix collection, i wish Ed will do a re:mix collection a.s.a.p. his georgeFM slot always funk things up Wink
[quote]
i hope paul dean does the next but that's just me!
[quote]
naked music - nude dimensions volume 3
[quote]
anyone got a spare copy im feeling like im missing out here Sad
[quote]
Well i think(is that alright round here?) its great that the house boards are being used to communicate and spread niceties bout each other. Go the house!!!Leave the other boards to the freaks!!!!
Ed for Remix!!!!!
Ed for Prime minister!!!!!!
[quote]
in reply to remix the next cd should feature PAUL DEAN!!!! Smile
[quote]
Cuffy and/or Leon D

.... oooohhhh Stephen Green!
[quote]
i think John Saunders should do the next re-mix.

PS(Siren was definatley the worse, then clinton smiley)

[quote]
dick johnson maybe?!
[quote]
OMG.. Skrapes you are a fuckin legend.

John Saunders is New Zealands Derrick Carter.

Fuck.. I didn't mean to compare him with anyone
[quote]
uh oh. Mapoo is gonna have a fit about that one.
[quote]
almost 4got bout havocs cd. that was shit! some alright tracks but terrible terrible mixing.
And i heard that he head 10 tries at each mix and then they joined all the best mixes up with pro tools and it still suxs!!!
[quote]
peptidebass - this is the phattest RE:MIX cd thread, not the "thread for peptidebass to give big-ups to Nude Dimensions 3 again!" ha ha!

You're right though. I love listening to that CD when I get home. So happy and mello! Love that mix of "Every Day"!
[quote]
Back to the original question, I give big ups to Soane's - superb closing track, 2nd place = Tim Phinn's. Thought Greg Churchill's was great but I reckon he's more of a DJ for the dancefloor. Next CD? How about D&B? Hey, they've done a hard-house one (what was with that?).
[quote]
hahah yeah fair play trans i lost my way there a bit. Soane would have to get the thumbs up from me for the best remix cd. There i think im on the right track now.
[quote]
Churchill was pretty phat ow.... definately dancefloor musik but its a masterpiece... pity bout thte sound quality!

Havent heard phinnies!! But i dont really rate SOane's that highyl, the first haslf is pretty un-inspiring i thought!
[quote]
oh my oh my oh my, wasn't that an interesting read!

just one thing -

quote: "nah, the worst remix cd is without a doubt that hardhouse bollix they tried with siren - that was the worst fucken cd i've heard in my life. & it's not that i hate hardhouse - i went to carl cox last year thought that was amazing BUT that cd was utter crap IMHO."

did anyone else notice something a bit strange with that post"

[quote]
ok so carl cox isn't strictly hardhouse, if that's what ur reffering to ferksta - or if ur reffering to the fact they this is a house forum & i shouldn't even mention that cd then i apologize profusely (sp?)
