Petrol Needle Stuck

Any idea how i can fix this?

Petrol light came on filled up car but needle didn't move. However, the needle still moved down.

So did the needle move or not?
It may be that its not set at the right level, as in its set higher than it should be so its empty before it shows it but then when you fill it goes above the full indicator.
Is that what you mean?
