PC / TV recording

Heya.

Looking at putting together a box that does the home entertainment thing.

Anyone had much experience with tv capture cards ?

Would like to find software that is nice and easy to use to program in what time to record stuff.

Other question I have... has anyone tried interfacing a pc with a sky digital decoder ? I see there is a rs232 port on the back of the decorder...

Theres a few threads on how to do it lower down (afterburner was making one)

I prefer leadtek over lifeview

mini itx boards are pretty good if you want to keep it quiet and small.

i build two of these about a year back and have been using every day since,. i did a lot of research and found the only half decent card was the hauppauge pvr-350 this has onboard decoding that wont tie up your pc etc. that and a LG dvd burner and i cant complain about the setup at all,. if anyone needs help info@fullspeed.co.nz happy to help with what i can.
