This was my first big scale festival...I took a moment while dancing to Stantons to prop myself up on the barrier and take a squize back at the crowd. To see what was probably over 2000 people all going nucking futs to some phat breaks at 3:30 in the afternoon was just sublime!
FUCK THAT WAS O FOR OARSOME!!!
Such an amazing day, such amazing quality music, such amazingly friendly and up for it people!
Absolutely loved it!
Biggups to Future Entertainment and all involved in the running of this event, seems even the weather was on your side with the rain holding off completely!
Highlights of the day would have to be Pete Hook, so much fun to rock out to, didn't know what to expected from him, but thoroghly enjoyable as it was just kinda neat to be in a big festival dacing to shit I simply don't normally dance, or even listen to! I think it was the two crazy ladies I was dancing with which really made it, they were just fucking rocking it! The looks on their face and the screams they gave when he dropped the original of Killers 'Mr Brightside' was classic!
Mark Farina was thoroughly enjoyable, great to hear some really housey-house music, I think that was a first since we got to Melbourne!
Free Form Fix was fucking solid and very dirty, Tim Deluxe was a lot tougher than I thought he'd be and went off, that remix of 'Just Won't Do' was fucking mean, and dropping Plasticman's 'Spastic' and the original version of New Orders 'Blue Monday' was a lovely treat considering Pete Hook only played some random remix of it.
Ian Pooley wasn't bad, but where was the funk? Even he's gone all electro now too, sad!
Dominic from Stantons was great, but a little predictable from having seen him before.
Krafty smashed it as always.
Blueprint and The Midnight Juganauts were well fucking wicked also, had never them before and they were great fun!
Missed most of the hip hop, tried it for a while, but just wasn't fitting my mood at the time, such is.
Respect to the lovely young lady dancing up the front to Free Form Five with me, actively taking the piss out of this beefcake muzza who pushed his way to the front to simply stand there learning against the stage looking back at everyone as if he was a prized piece of art on display! So funny!
