Do any of you guys here on Biggoe from the Welly area goto clubs in Palmy?
If you want to see something else for a change, why not come up and see what is on offer here.
We have 3 dance music clubs here, Harvestors, Uno, and The Lighthouse.
Harvestors is where House music is played most of the time, sometimes have the odd night with Drum and Bass or Hardhouse. Place is quiet small though, and the sound system quite poor, only one tiny mirror ball too. Uno bar is across the road from Harvestors, house is played here mostly, place is very small, and ceiling bout 6 foot, not a bad lounge bar and the sound sytem quite good.
If you want to go to something bigger, check out the Lighthouse, Palmys new dance venue, I dj there as DJ Zippy, we mostly play Trance, Hardhouse, and on a few occasions House Music. Place has a laser light show, 7000 watt sound system (Loudest in Palmy) large bar, large video screen with animations to music and camera on the turntables so you can the dj mix etc (like at fevah). There will be a lounge bar/ chill out area soon, nearly finished building it. Also will be getting a late closing down time of 5am soon.

If you not into the dance music, why not check out the Fat Ladies Arms, you might be a lucky one and pick up a skank for a night. They even have a dungeon in there too Smile
Other clubs are Loaded Hog, High Fliers, Scarfies, Diablos.... and many more

Jeff H: Yeah it's Matt Ford, I woke up in the middle of the night with the revelation that his last name was Ford. Lovely guy - well for the amount of time that I met him for. Looking forward to hearing the Palmy talent when I get up there Smile

yeah ive met kava a couple of times at the lighthouse, really nice guy, we have a couple of guys that have played, on e a dj the other a mc.
And yes ive put osme flyers in Firm records and Chelsea about 4 weeks ago I think. I should bring some new ones down soon, or I could send some to some of you guys down there in Welly.

not on e, one i mean Smile

The Lighthouse is kinda a mix between Coyote's and the top floor of Phoenix don't you think? It's ok, but i wouldn't say it's that good. The dj booth is too high and the crowd can't really see who's up there. The Lighthouse has there own Laser too eh? that's one plus.

I was up there a few months ago to see dj Gyro, he's playing this sat night too i think.

yeah we are having an xmas party this saturday, you can win prizes such as a dvd player, car stereo, t shirts, hats, cds etc. should be all god, the place will close at 5am.
Gyro (Bruse) will be playing that night, LT - a local hardhouse dj here, and me playing trance.
Looking foward to it, also have another xmas party on the 24th dec, place will close like at 12am Smile

jeffthechef and i know bruce very very well, he's an old friend of ours. i would come up, but i'm flying to sydney sat afternoon! and jeff's always too busy hehe
[quote]
Not always .... and besides Palmy is a long walk Wink
[quote]
Ahh yes, but it's not you're ever short a ride ever. I'm sure the Dr or the Bruske would take ya, or even the daniel fella (if you could risk going in a car with him - he has wicked sounds though remember!).
You're never too busy for craig and reece's live acts, but when bruce is playin.. there's always something better to go to, like Derek Carter or Farenhite, for example. but anyway... heh, wish i could goto farenhite this weekend!!! rah!

Not too busy for bruces gigs just that I only hear about them the night or two before hand and I've already planned other things either that or I'm too tired (ie sunday) Smile
