Oh McCain, you've done it again (with your patently absurd judgement in picking a VP)

Couric Why, in your view, is Roe v. Wade a bad decision?

Sarah Palin: I think it should be a states' issue not a federal government-mandated, mandating yes or no on such an important issue. I'm, in that sense, a federalist, where I believe that states should have more say in the laws of their lands and individual areas. Now, foundationally, also, though, it's no secret that I'm pro-life that I believe in a culture of life is very important for this country. Personally that's what I would like to see, um, further embraced by America.

Couric: Do you think there's an inherent right to privacy in the Constitution?

Palin: I do. Yeah, I do.

Couric: The cornerstone of Roe v. Wade.

Palin: I do. And I believe that individual states can best handle what the people within the different constituencies in the 50 states would like to see their will ushered in an issue like that.

Couric: What other Supreme Court decisions do you disagree with?

Palin: Well, let's see. There's, of course in the great history of America there have been rulings, that's never going to be absolute consensus by every American. And there are those issues, again, like Roe v. Wade, where I believe are best held on a state level and addressed there. So you know, going through the history of America, there would be others but …

Couric: Can you think of any?

Palin: Well, I could think of … any again, that could be best dealt with on a more local level. Maybe I would take issue with. But, you know, as mayor, and then as governor and even as a vice president, if I'm so privileged to serve, wouldn't be in a position of changing those things but in supporting the law of the land as it reads today.

Biden will have to be careful though - he will be able to own here left, right and centre but then the fundys will paint him as a rude, sexist, meany-pants...

she could make Biden out as a complete cock over iraq.... and he could make them yankees fall in love with him

chances are slim on both counts

he doesn't need to do anything pro-active to make her look stupid; she'll do it for him

Keep shouting it vads. Maybe one day you'll convince me, the 75% of political pundits who consistently point out how much more nuanced/reasoned/intelligent he is, and everyone else outside the bible-hick-belt. Cool

How you can say with any sense of self-worth that McCain is SMARTER than Obama eludes me...

I'm probably smarter than Obama. Does that make me a better candidate for POTUS?

Sure as fuck not.

Experience counts. McCain has it. Palin and Obama don't.

Biden is only a VP. Irrelevant.

Needs more mentioning of McCain's military service.

Maybe an "Obama is a rich uncle Tom lawyer" thrown in for good measure.

You're slipping dude. You should read some more magazines and newspapers to keep up with current affairs. Which ones? ALL OF THEM! :>

You guys dissed Edwards and Clinton, two COMPETENT Democrat candidates, for this fucking rube. Edwards, who spent his life working for unions. Clinton, who understands exactly how the White House works.

For what? A good looking, smooth talking huckster from Chicago

There's no way I could watch the whole interview I actually had to stop the clip of the Russia question just in case the wind changed and I was forever stuck with the contorted face her answer had inflicted on me.

Vadz you have lost this debate, McCain chose Palin with his judgement, he was the one who put a hockey mum with the brain of a child a heart beat away from the nuclear button, its not Palin's fault she is in this position its McCain's for selecting her.

He will be using that same poor judgement to run the United States of America.

He is not fit to run the United States of America.

End of story.

And millions of voters are putting a bourgeois lawyer with the experience of an ant ON the nuclear button.

Remember, Palin is as experienced as Obama. The difference is one is a veep, one is a POTUS

The thread is about Palin. The person that would take over in the likely chance that McCain drops dead during his four year term.

"what newpapers and media do you read"

"ummm... all of them"

"all of them? can you name one, give me an example"

"...."

WHAT THE FUCK?

No wonder some republicans have called for her to do the honourable thing and admit shes not up to it and step down. And seriously, how could anyone that expects to be seen as competent pick someone so useless as their second in line. Someone that appears to have been picked purely to solidify the religeous nutjob vote.

on that score what are the chances of McCain dropping dead before the election what with all the stress of electioneering and the economy?

I wonder what would happen if he did

Actuarials have run the maths - him and Obama are actually pretty similar odds to get through the first term alive, but come the second term McCain's "death chance" goes to 25%...

What a retard. Rolling Eyes America should rightly be the laughing stock of the world on this issue. At least China and India have a line of excuses a mile long. America has: we're not sure the data confirms... bla bla

Things are about to get very, very ugly :/

Deciding to play the association gane is a sure sign of desperation on the part of McCain, and it's unfortunate that Obama now has to follow suit. Kerry's 2004 campaign has made it clear that one can't stand idly by being smeared by your opponent.

Ahhh, what a despicable beast (American) politics is :>

Examples?

I have only herd his aides use pretty much the same rhetoric as Obama him self, it seems they have definite game plan and are sticking to it.
