Anyone who has been out to the Massey Memorial would as blind as a turd not to notice something to the effect of "no large events ever" on the notice board on the walkway up to it. That place was NEVER going to be a venue . . . someone just didn't do their homework.
they did their homework... they approuched the council asking for concent, and the council gave the permission to use the 'venue'. What happened was that a couple of days before the event they were contacted by internal affairs who said that the council didnt have the right to give permission for the land because it was Massey's land.... This was not a fuck up of the promoters... but a mistake by the council. They approuched Massey but were denied.
it would be a shame to see any sort of gig up at that memorial, it serves a purpose and not for hundreds of kids to aun amok there, can't see any gig occuring there without some vandalism or defacement of private property....
