I used the Ortofon nightclub s cart and stylus but it seem they have been super seeded by these http://ortofon.arkena.dk/disco/
Anybody tried/used/own these babies or have any info/feedback.

I was thinking about this the other day too Jeff. I need to buy one good cart/stylus for recording in old tunes... Wonder what the best options are quality/price-wise.

I got a pair of the Pro S cart & needles recently

can't comment on how great they are as I still haven't used them enough to wear them in - the digital age has all but ruined my record playing adventures at home (that and the mess the room is in)

The last set ( before this one) lasted for ages and these are very average with only around 200 hrs playing time on clean records, no scratchin etc etc. Sound quality is excellent and wouldnt mind trying the new mk2 but want some more feedback.

Iv always used the Sure M44-7, just looked at those prices for the Ortofons.....fuck me their not cheep are they!!

I don't know how much better the MK2s are, but they are a lot louder. I got myself Q-Berts, they work quite well. I haven't really tried that many different brands so can't say what they are like compared to others....

Thanks Virgo, they do have good reviews so will order some of those.

The Q-Berts will have louder output, but I imagine the disco will sound better, not that I can see the 'Disco' on the site... the 'Electro'?
